Kind Hearts 💕 Kind Hands 🙌🏾

As our little business continues to grow and our team expands, we’ve recently introduced a small change for some of our clients who have multiple staff members visiting.

We’ve added a communication book in a few homes so our team can easily share updates about each visit. It’s a simple way for staff to keep each other informed about what’s happened during the day and make sure everyone is on the same page when supporting our clients.

At first, one of our lovely clients was a little unsure about the change – which is completely understandable when something new is introduced. But we’re happy to say he now absolutely loves it! Over the weekend he told me that his whole family sat down and read through the communication book together, and they thought it was such a great idea. 💕🙌🏾

Moments like this remind us how important good communication is for everyone involved.

And today gave us another little moment of joy…

When I asked my client if he had a hole punch, he told me to go and grab one from his office. As you can see in the photo, this isn’t just any hole punch – it looks like it belongs in a museum!

After a good laugh, we had a quick Google and discovered it dates back to the 1960s. What an absolute heirloom! 🕰️

It’s little moments like these that make our days so special 💕🙌🏾

💕International Women’s Day 💕

Today feels like the perfect day to say how incredibly grateful I am for these amazing women. I honestly wouldn’t be where I am with Kind Hearts, Kind Hands without you all 💕🙌🏾

Every single day you show kindness, patience, strength and compassion to the people we support. The care and companionship you give our clients never goes unnoticed, and I feel so proud to have such strong, independent women as part of this journey with me 💕🙌🏾

We are also privileged to support some truly wonderful female clients. Listening to their stories, their life experiences, their wisdom and their values inspires us more than they probably realise 💕🙌🏾

Today is about celebrating women the women we work with, the women we support, and the women who inspire us every day 💕🩷

✨ Pattern Drafting with wonderful Lilibet Sews customer— Slowing Down to Get It Just Right ✨

Last week’s 1‑to‑1 sewing lesson was all about thoughtful preparation. We haven’t started sewing yet, but we spent our time on something just as important: understanding how to copy patterns with care and confidence.

Because she’s using a beautiful vintage embroidered tablecloth to make a blouse for her daughter, we took extra time to think about placement—keeping the grainline true, protecting the embroidery, and planning where those lovely motifs will shine on the finished garment. It’s the kind of gentle, mindful work that sets you up for success later on.

Next lesson, we’ll be placing the pattern onto the fabric, cutting everything out, and hopefully taking those first exciting stitches. You can already feel the love and intention going into this project. ✨

I had the pleasure of attending an International Women’s Day event – a day that I’m incredibly passionate about. 💕

It was lovely to be in a room filled with inspiring people, hearing powerful stories and sharing so much positivity around women 🙌🏾💕

It was also great to catch up with Diane from Community Catalysts, who supported me on my journey, and to see some familiar faces from my previous community work. I also had a lovely catch up with my friend Sarah Hall 💕💕

I was absolutely blown away by Jodie Cunningham’s words of wisdom and passion. She spoke so honestly about women, resilience, and the fact that it’s okay to fail sometimes – because it’s through those moments that we learn and grow. Such an important message and one that really resonated 💕

All in all, it was such an inspiring day and a wonderful reminder of the strength and support that exists when women lift each other up 💕🙌🏾

We are so pleased and excited to have Shelley join the Kind Hearts Kind Hands family 💕🙌🏾

Shelley comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience, having spent many years working in the care sector with some well-known providers. She has previously managed a staff team but is now looking forward to returning to a more hands-on supporting role — something she has truly missed.

Shelley has been out shadowing today and has already been a real hit with our clients. Her warm, friendly, and bubbly personality shines through, and she shares the exact values that are so important to us here at KHKH 💕🙌🏾

Outside of work, Shelley is a proud mum to three lovely boys, a wife and her family and friends mean the world to her. She also enjoys spending quality time at her caravan on weekends 🏡✨

✨ A new Kind Hearts journey began this week ✨

This week we started supporting a lovely new client who just needs a little extra hand-holding while finding their confidence again. Our first outing together was a gentle trip out for some shopping, with a well-earned piece of cake and a hot chocolate along the way ☕🍰

Those first visits can feel very daunting for new clients. It’s never about rushing — it’s about taking things slowly, getting to know each other, building trust, and creating a safe space where someone feels comfortable. Over time, that trust grows into something really special, and it’s incredible to look back and see how far someone has come 💕🙌🏾

Tonight, as I was leaving another client I’ve been supporting for many months, she gave me a hug and said, “What would I do without you, Sam?” 😭
Moments like that, the ones that nearly bring a tear to your eye 😭 are the reminders of exactly why I love what we do at Kind Hearts Kind Hands 💕🙌🏾

It’s not just care. It’s connection, trust, and companionship 💕🙌🏾
