Looking for Relief from Acid Reflux?

Acid reflux often becomes more common as we age, with symptoms like heartburn, a sour taste, or food coming back up after meals or exercise. Hormonal changes during perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause can make it worse, leaving many women feeling uncomfortable.

Managing reflux can be tough. I understand how challenging it can feel. That is why I have shared some practical tips on my website to help you manage symptoms and take steps toward feeling better. This is the link to the article you can paste into your browser https://andreajoyceacupuncture.co.uk/reflux-in-midlife-and-older-women/

You can find the article in the Articles and Resources section on my website.

Are digestive issues or acid reflux impacting your daily life? Many of us, especially during menopause and postmenopause, struggle with the effects of hectic schedules and stress, amongst other factors, on our digestive health. While medication can help, it isn’t always the answer.

As an accredited Digestion with Confidence reflux practitioner with advanced training in managing reflux, both with and without prescribed medication, I can help ease digestion, reduce side effects, and address any nutritional deficiencies to help you feel your best. If reducing PPIs is appropriate for you, in line with NICE guidelines, I’ll work closely with you and your medical team to support the withdrawal process, manage rebound heartburn, and ensure better outcomes.

If you’re ready to take a step towards feeling better, I’m here to help. Let’s chat about how we can work together to improve your digestive health. You can book a free no obligation confidential call via my website.

Turmeric latte can be a great warming drink for chilly days. You can find a recipe on my website (via the articles and resouces link in my bio) if you haven't tried it yet and would like to.

Turmeric is usually well tolerated in amounts commonly found in food. If you have a health condition or are taking medication I' d recommend you obtain advice from a registered nutritional therapy practitioner, nutritionist or your healthcare advisor prior to using turmeric in larger amounts or supplement form.

What we eat can be a major risk factor for many chronic conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke. A balanced diet can help promote health and prevent many of the risk factors for these conditions.

If you're not sure where to start I can help you.

You can find my contact details on my website www.andreajoyceacupuncture.co.uk or via the bio links.

Leading a healthy lifestyle is so much more than what we eat. Health and wellbeing coaching can be incredibly powerful in supporting you with the changes that matter to you and in helping you to maintain results longer term.

Coaching can help you deal with the obstacles you encounter, or when you are feeling stuck, in achieving your goals. I can work with you to help you identify what is getting in the way and develop a plan to put into action so you can move forward towards feeling the best you can.

I include some health coaching in my nutrition programmes, however, I can also provide standalone health coaching if you feel you would benefit from more in-depth work to support you.

Quick and easy ways to help you eat a rainbow and make your diet more colourful:
- Start by adding 1-2 new different coloured vegetable to your shopping basket each week that you can steam, roast or sauté to add to dishes.
- Frozen spinach, butternut squash or sweet potato can be useful to have in the freezer for adding to hot dishes such as soups, casseroles or curries. Frozen vegetables can be a quick and cost-effective way to add more colour and usually have just as many phytonutrients as their fresh counterparts if not more.
- Add grated or pureed vegetables into premade sauces, omelettes, frittata, slaws or soups.

Many of us have been touched by cancer in some way, myself included, either through personal diagnosis or that of family, friends or colleagues. This has been a motivating factor in me completing further BANT recognised training to be able to provide nutrition support alongside mainstream treatment.

Prior to embarking on nutritional therapy and/or acupuncture I would recommend you discuss this with the clinician responsible for your care and treatment.

Nutritional therapy (and/or acupuncture) are intended to support you in improving your overall health and wellbeing before, during and after treatment prescribed by your consultant and are not a treatment or a remedy for the cancer itself.

If you'd like to know more about my qualifications and what I do, or book a free call to speak to me about how I may be able to support you, there is a link in my bio.

Your nutritional needs, metabolism (how fast your body converts food to energy) and health changes as you enter your 40s. These changes can be due to decreased hormones, reduced activity levels and medical conditions. Nutritional therapy and/or acupuncture can be beneficial in supporting your health and wellbeing during this time and in postmenopause.

If you’d like to know more or discuss with me how I might be able to support you with your individual health and wellbeing challenges please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to speak to you, and if I’m not able to help I may know someone who can.

If you’d like to book a free call my contact details can be found via this link to my website: https://andreajoyceacupuncture.co.uk/contact-2/
