Thanks Vincent Hilario for sharing these wonderful photos on social media last week!

It was great to see how passionate you were about working with our new GE HealthCare Discovery MI-DR PET/CT at Salisbury District Hospital and the difference we can all make 🧡

We’re so proud of the people behind our services – working together to bring advanced imaging closer to patients every day.

In partnership with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, this mobile service has already:

✅ Reduced waiting times in the Salisbury area, giving local patients easier access to PET-CT.
✅ Supported with overflow capacity for Southampton patients in the region.
✅ Extended service hours (07:30–19:30) to provide flexible appointments.
✅ Offered additional F18 FDG and F18 PSMA pathways.

We’re expanding diagnostic capacity for NHS patients in Southampton, reducing onward referrals and ensuring patients can access CT scans closer to home.

The launch of our mobile CT service at Royal South Hants Hospital is delivered in partnership with Practice Plus Group. With no previous on-site CT provision, patients can now get faster access to the scans they need with less travel stresses.

Seeing over 28 patients a day, the unit provides head, thorax, abdominal/pelvis and MSK imaging using a GE Revolution Evo (64-slice) scanner – supporting local clinicians with fast, high-quality diagnostics.

We’re investing £10m to rebuild a state-of-the-art radiopharmacy that will accelerate the development of the next generation of radiotracers.

Today, we’re proud to announce a major collaboration with The University of Manchester – a partnership that will significantly enhance diagnostic and cancer care across the UK.

This partnership combines the University’s world-class research with our own expertise delivering imaging to over 100,000 NHS cancer patients every year – and is a shared commitment to improving outcomes and survival rates.

Alliance Medical will invest £10 million into the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre (WMIC) at the Christie Hospital in Withington, creating a radiopharmacy to support academic research and cutting-edge diagnostics.

Establishing a base in Manchester - a leading hub for UK medical research - strengthens our ability to support NHS services locally and nationally.

Together, we’ll enable research that spans pre-clinical studies through to therapies, across oncology, neurology, and cardiology.

Axel Schmidt, Managing Director, Alliance Medical Radiopharmacy says: “This is a testament to the growing potential of radiopharmaceuticals to transform diagnostics.”

Operations are due to begin in Autumn 2025, with radiotracer production expected within two years.

Welcome back to 🧡 July has been full of memorable moments, but first, we want to wish a fond farewell to Tracey Austin after an incredible 31 years with Alliance Medical!

Tracey’s impact has been huge - from Unit Manager of our first static site at Havering, to key roles in business development, tender activity and major site set-ups. Tracey, we wish you the happiest retirement - you will be missed 💐

4-5. We enhanced our PET-CT service at Lincoln County Hospital with the launch of a new digital-ready PET-CT unit - a big milestone for our patients. Our team had fun on the photoshoot!

6. We expanded life-saving screening with the launch of our third Lung Cancer Screening programme in the Lancashire and South Cumbria region! Scanning is taking place at our convenient, community-based site at Tesco.

7. Dr. Sara Tacci and Becci Duggan hosted another successful CPD-accredited webinar, exploring FDG PET-CT’s role in Head & Neck cancer pathways. Thank you both and to everyone who joined!

8. A proud graduation day 🎓 A huge congratulations to our first-ever Radiography Degree Apprentices, who graduated at Carlisle Cathedral: Susan Hurd, Samantha Currier, Mitra Emamipour, Andrew Bateman and Louise Mason. We’re so proud of you! 🎉

9. Our very own Ruth Bateman has been mastering archery for just 12 months and already brought home a novice and bronze model in her class at the Wenlock Olympian Shoot. Fantastic achievement, Ruth!

That’s a wrap for July! Keep following for more snapshots of life at AML.

It was time for fun in Kings Heath last week! Our team at Kings Heath Community Diagnostic Centre joined friends and families from the local community to participate in the area's family fun day. 🎪 🙌

Unit Manager, Dominic Turner said: “It was great to be involved in the Kings Heath fun day for a second year. It is a fantastic day where local businesses can get together and provide a day of fun activities and games for our local community.

Thank you to Hayley Morgan, Clinical Assistant and Monir Khan Clinical Lead for manning our stall and braving the rain ☔”

Alongside the frivolity, the team were able to share some stories of the difference we’re making for patients in the Northampton community. It was such an enjoyable day for both the local residents and Kings Heath CDC team.

Lung Cancer Screening is vital in saving lives. We partner with ICBs, NHS Trusts, and retail giants, to improve access to this life-saving screening closer to patients' homes.

Here’s why organisations choose to partner with us:

→ We launched the UK’s first LCS pilot in 2021 and have delivered 10 successful LCS programmes in the UK

→ 80% of the cancers we’ve diagnosed were early stage 1-2, where cancer is most treatable.

→ We offer a seamless service, rollout and delivery

→ We are aligned with NHS LCS goals, to maximise access and uptake rates

→ We are experts in community diagnostics and patient pathways

→ We offer a range of flexible mobile and community-focused solutions including our innovative and expandable CT Mobile Medical Plus fleet.

Our solutions don't only improve access, they're driving measurable impact too.

Community Diagnostic Centres are transforming access to healthcare.
And we’re proud to be at the forefront. In the last 6 months we’ve:

→ Opened a new CDC in Kings Heath, in partnership with Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.

→ Integrated the first static PET-CT within a UK CDC at Oldham CDC, with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

→ Opened a new MRI service at Woking CDC, with Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

→ Introduced MRI and CT services at Corby CDC, with Kettering General Hospital.

We’re not just building sites and installers scanners.
We’re tackling the UK’s greatest diagnostic challenges head on.

Shorter pathways to faster diagnosis.
Services closer to where patients live.
A full CDC solution for NHS partners.

These centres are reducing hospital pressure, addressing health inequalities, and improving outcomes.

We were in Preston on Wednesday to officially launch our latest Lung Cancer Screening programme… and our third one in the Lancashire and South Cumbria region 🎉

Our team have one clear goal, to detect as many lung cancers as possible (at the earliest possible stage) and save lives. Scanning started on Monday, and we’ve already completed 1,000 assessments and scanned over 100 people.

This vital service, delivered in partnership with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board and supported by the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, will see approx. 40,000 patients invited to be screened, with scanning taking place at our community-based site at Tesco. Alliance Medical will provide low-dose CT scanning from a comfortable and modern mobile unit, enabling fast, accessible imaging for eligible participants within their immediate local area.
