Next to take their position on the Great South Run start line…
Team AML’s Managing Director, Pete Wi******er 👏

Despite a tough 2025 London Marathon experience, he bounced back to achieve a “𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦-𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵” over 10k, just five months later.

Pete trains three times a week (plus the odd bike ride) and says having an event in the diary gives him focus - even on the days he’s not feeling it.

His top advice?
“𝘌𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢 𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘔𝘪𝘹 𝘪𝘵 𝘶𝘱. 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘤𝘩. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘪𝘵... 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵?”

Next up in Team AML’s Great South Run line-up…
It’s Graham Penter! 🏃‍♂️

Graham isn’t new to endurance events, he’s already completed:

→ The London Marathon (2019) for Make-A-Wish
→ The Great North Swim (5k and 10k)
→ The London Marathon Swim at the Olympic Pool

This year, he’s adding the Great South Run to his growing list of achievements – and is excited to be part of Team AML.

“𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯, 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘵’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦.”

His top tip for anyone else in training?

Team AML is taking on the Great South Run 2025! 🏃‍♂️
For Matt, this year’s run is deeply personal.

On 19th October, he’ll be running 10 miles in loving memory of his nan, who sadly passed away with dementia.

Training hasn’t been easy, but Matt is determined to cross the finish line! “𝘕𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘴.”

And his favourite part of training so far? “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦.”

We’re proud to support Matt and the rest of Team AML as they lace up in support of Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support 🧡

We’re incredibly proud of Kes Sinfield, one of our Assistant Practitioners, who presented her inspiring research at the Positive Dyslexia Ltd Conference in Twickenham.

As part of her final year project at the University of Cumbria, Kes explored how patient appointment letters could be redesigned to be more accessible and inclusive, particularly for individuals with dyslexia.

The British Dyslexia Association, impressed by her ideas, invited her to meet with them and later present her work at their London conference.

We caught up with Kes after the event, she said:

“It was the most incredible experience meeting so many people who are passionate about improving accessibility and inclusivity. I had the opportunity to hear inspiring talks, including one from Dr Sarah Moseley, whose work has been a real influence on me. It was an amazing opportunity that I hope will lead to exciting developments in the future.”

A huge well done to Kes for taking her research beyond the classroom 👏

On Monday we launched a new Mobile PET-CT service alongside Barts Health NHS Trust 💙

This marks a key milestone for patient care, improving access to advanced molecular imaging for NHS Patients. As demand for PET-CT across North-East London continues to grow, this new service will:

→ Strengthen local PET-CT provision
→ Provide the latest technology to increase imaging sensitivity and lesion detection, and benefit patients through enhanced accuracy
→ Reduce wait times for scans

The service expansion is part of our long-term commitment to supporting the NHS at scale, locally and nationally, for a wide range of Molecular and Diagnostic Imaging Solutions.

We’re so proud of our colleague, Samantha Hook, who is taking on a charity skydive in support of Dementia UK - one of Alliance Medical’s chosen charity partners.

For Samantha, this cause is deeply personal:

“My grandad passed away in 2014 from Dementia & Alzheimer's disease. It was a devastating time for the family. Watching someone you love, slowly fade away. It can be scary and isolating without support. However, the experience did lead me to my career in healthcare, which I love.

Why a skydive? It’s on my bucket list and I can do it for a worthy cause! It's fantastic that Alliance Medical have chosen this as one of our charity partners.”

Yesterday, we gave three Engineering students from the University of Bath a rare chance to step inside our Radiopharmacy facility in Sutton, during a cyclotron maintenance shutdown.

The students, Jack, Theo and Ned, were given a personal tour where they saw inside our cyclotron and learnt first-hand how our science and engineering expertise power radiotracer production and modern healthcare.

For us, it was a perfect opportunity to reinforce our commitment to education and professional development. From graduate schemes, apprenticeships and educational webinars, we inspire the next generation of talent for the benefit of the wider healthcare industry.

We’re so proud of the people behind our services – working together to bring advanced imaging closer to patients every day.

In partnership with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, this mobile service has already:

✅ Reduced waiting times in the Salisbury area, giving local patients easier access to PET-CT.
✅ Supported with overflow capacity for Southampton patients in the region.
✅ Extended service hours (07:30–19:30) to provide flexible appointments.
✅ Offered additional F18 FDG and F18 PSMA pathways.

We’re expanding diagnostic capacity for NHS patients in Southampton, reducing onward referrals and ensuring patients can access CT scans closer to home.

The launch of our mobile CT service at Royal South Hants Hospital is delivered in partnership with Practice Plus Group. With no previous on-site CT provision, patients can now get faster access to the scans they need with less travel stresses.

Seeing over 28 patients a day, the unit provides head, thorax, abdominal/pelvis and MSK imaging using a GE Revolution Evo (64-slice) scanner – supporting local clinicians with fast, high-quality diagnostics.
