At Nightingale Court, this week has been one of honour, reflection, and heartfelt remembrance-a time to pause together and give thanks to all who have served, past and present.πΊ
We began on Remembrance Sunday, watching the national service from the Cenotaph and joining in the Two minute's silence. The afternoon was filled with familiar voices and song as we enjoyed a lovely singalong, bringing residents and staff together in shared spirit.
On Monday, we welcomed Elaine and Julie from St Wilfrid's Church for our Remembrance Service. Their visits are always special, but at this time of year their words felt especially meaningful-helping us reflect on faith, gratitude, and those we remember with love.
At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the11th month, we joined in the two minutes silence. Adam from the Southern Music Project performed The Last Post and Reveille live-a truly moving experience that left everyone deeply touched. Our warm thanks to Adam Denman for sharing such a powerful moment with us.πΊ
The afternoon brought smiles and shared memories as Eddie Cole entertained with familiar wartime favourites, sparking conversation and nostalgia all around.π€πΌ
To complete our week of Remembrance, our talented chef served a homemade Union Flag cake-the perfect finishing touch- followed by a fun wartime quiz to round off our celebrations.
Together, we remembered, reflected and gave thanks- a week filled with emotion, pride, and unity.
