We are remembering a kind and joyful person in one of our lovely residents, Ivor Hoff, who sadly recently passed away.
Ivor had a full and varied life - from becoming a Full Lieutenant in the army, to working as an engineering consultant for car companies and British Aerospace. He married his wife Alma after meeting at a dance at Birmingham University, and they had two daughters together, Pippa and Mel, who in turn each have to children, Ivor's grandkids.
Ivor enjoyed playing golf and walking by the river in Stratford.
What our staff will remember most about Ivor is how kind and gentle he was - always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed activities within the home, and he'd often dance - he even danced with the nurse who gave him his first COVID vaccination!
One fond memory is when our Entertainment Therapist, Margaret, had a garden party in her garden for the residents, Ivor loved the live singer so much, he was on his feet dancing from the moment she went on stage!
Ivor will be very missed by all of us at Bancroft Gardens.
