Sankalpa- what is it?
It is a Sanskrit word that means
• intention
• affirmation
• resolution
that creates the seed of growth in the area of your life that you feel needs the most attention.
🎉With 2022 coming to an end, we’ll start to think of resolutions right?!
Usual resolutions include “I’ll lose weight”, or “I’ll exercise more”. Now whilst these are “ok” resolutions, how often do we stick to them the whole year?
Now if you’re someone that does stick to your resolution then- well done you!
However if you don’t then ask yourself WHY?
The common reason for making and breaking resolutions is because we are usually reinforcing an existing negative pattern, on you telling yourself that you’re not good enough!
✨Sankalpas (the yogic intention), is a positive declaration. It comes from the heart. It’s a method of training your mind with an intention that’s heartfelt, rather than you subconsciously telling yourself you’re not good enough.
🧘🏽♀️It should be simple & short so you can pe*****te the words into your subconscious mind.
And it should be in the present tense, as an existing reality like you already have it.
For e.g. I am healthy, healed and strong
📿And then repeat this during meditation & throughout your day so it becomes a part of you (repeat using a mala with 108 beads!)
💜My Sankalpas (I have 2!)
“I trust & surrender to the Divine, things happen for me, not to me”
“I am a peaceful soul”
Along with my favourite to chant on my beads~ the Maha Mantra 🕉️
❔What’s yours ❔
Wishing you a blessed New Year friends.
I’m so grateful to everyone in my life for your support this year, and so happy to have crossed paths with so many new people to light up my year 😊
