🚨 Updated: Adult Choking Guidelines – 2025 🚨

The 2025 Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines introduce key updates to the management of choking in adults, focusing on improving effectiveness, safety, and outcomes.

✅ The new guidance emphasises:
• Clearer recognition of choking severity (mild vs severe obstruction)
• The importance of calling 999 early
• Continuing to alternate up to 5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts until the object is cleared or help arrives
• Commencing CPR immediately if the person becomes unresponsive
