It’s been a while! And lots of you are new here so a reintroduction is needed.

I’m Laura. I’m a nurse, mum, wife and dog mum.

I’ve been a nurse for 25 years and 5 years ago I did my aesthetics training. Which makes it sound like a 1 day course and you’re off!! Far from it. It’s continuous; developing, perfecting, refining every single day.

I’m a nurse prescriber, which means you see me for all your needs whether they be prescription based, injectables or skincare.

I don’t offer every treatment out there, and that is a conscious decision, my choice. I want to be an expert in what I do. That means keeping it small and focussed, providing what my patients want and need, meaning my skill are used all the time, not sitting in my back pocket going stale.

My dogs and the garden (middle age is here 🤷🏼‍♀️) are my downtime. My children are older and don’t need me so much these days, so now you all fill my spare time 🤭 which I love! Seeing someone leave my clinic feeling a little bit more confident is the best!!

Skin ages.
It’s a natural process caused by genetics and environmental factors. The aim for most of us is to slow the visible ageing process as much as we can.

If you’re relying on the top of the pyramid for anti ageing you’re very likely feeling underwhelmed with the results you’re seeing, or maybe even questioning if it’s working anymore (think Botox in your 30’s v’s 40’s) are they are the right thing for you, is your practitioner advising/treating correctly.

Truth.
The top of pyramid does and will work for everyone, to an extent.
BUT, your results will be so much better if you’ve got the base of the pyramid in place.

At-home skincare; the foundation.
Daily habits using personalised, effective products to maintain skin health and protect results. Consistency is crucial.

In-clinic treatments, monthly or bi-monthly. These provide support to the daily habits. Peels, microneedling; to address individual concerns. These accelerate improvement and target specific concerns.

Injectables should be used as refinement, 4-6 monthly.
Structural correction and advanced rejuvenation. Careful. considered use of dermal filler, skin booster, toxin treatments bespoke to your individual needs.

There’s been a change in software that I use. This has had a knock on effect to online booking, my ease of using the diary (I’m old!) and therefore I take more time in clinic getting to grips with the software for your records and am having to book all appointments myself. Hence the lack of presence here. Throw in Christmas, and I am a wreck! 🤦🏼‍♀️😆

I am taking this opportunity to review the treatments I offer, which will lead to me discontinuing some I feel do not deliver the level of results I, or you expect.

There will also be a price review effective from January 1st. Any treatments already booked, or booked between now and the end of of the year, will be honoured at the current price. My prices have remained the same for the last 4+ years, I hope you all understand the need for this review.

I have no appointments remaining this year, and January is around half full. Please get in touch via dm or text if you want to book an appointment. I’ll announce as soon as online booking is up and running again.

Not recognising the person looking back from the mirror?

Well hasn’t that come round quick!!

If you want to be Botox/skin booster ready for the December festivities you need treatment this week or next! With the review/second skin booster end of the month and you’re good to go!

If you’re wanting to look fresh and glowy for the Big Man then treatments need to start end of this month, with the review week before Christmas.

Micro needling. The absolute Godfather in skin treatments to improve collagen production/supply. Also known as collagen infection therapy. It is my favourite. Skin literally glows after this treatment.

These 3 pictures are all immediately post treatments. The first 2 had a medium depth treatment the final one had a deeper treatment with targeted areas treated at deeper level. This meant that the skin was more red afterwards and downtime was longer. But results to problem areas were visible sooner.

The beauty of a mechanical device is that treatment is totally bespoke to your skin needs. A course of at least : is recommended, 6 of targeting specific concerns.

Autumn winter is the perfect time for this treatment due to less daylight hours and therefore a lower risk of complication caused from the sun during the healing process.

With so many aesthetic providers to choose from, why choose me?

I have a medical background, a fully qualified nurse with over 20 years experience. I am a prescribing nurse with advanced nurse practitioner qualifications at masters level.

I provide natural enhancements to improve and delay signs of ageing. No trends, no gimmicks.

I listen to what you want to achieve and I will help guide you to achieve that. If I think it’s unrealistic, I will say so. I will say ‘no’ if a treatment you want is inappropriate.

I have found a huge passion for skin health. Medical grade skincare is the way forward with so many problems associated with ageing. I will advise you as to what would be best for you with no hard sell.

Another lovely little lip transformation.

The brief: Laura, I trust you, get on with it.

Because my patients know I only do discreet, natural, undetectable.

But, Rome isn’t built in a day. There are multi-modalities used here to create this result.

Sun damage.
Now it is likely to be at its most obvious in the form of dark spots, dehydration meaning lines and wrinkles are more obvious.

And now is the perfect time for a reset. These 2 pictures are 12 months apart. Last autumn/winter skincare introduced products that treated dark spots and they hugely improved. Through the summer SPF was used, stayed out of the sun as much as possible, but you have to live! So some of the damage, dark spots in particular have crept back in. But not anywhere close to baseline of 12 months ago.

So what now? Start again. Reintroducing products that treat dark spots, rehydrate and encourage collagen production by using in clinic treatments such as peel and micro needling.

Just because you’ve done it once doesn’t mean you never do it again. You don’t just do a gym class once and expect that to last a lifetime. Skin health is a commitment, consistency brings results and can hold back skin ageing better than you can imagine!
