FROME resident, Lydia Hardy, has written a book for families and is donating all proceeds to Focus. The book, The Magician of Rook Lane, features poetic rhymes and illustrations, designed to appeal to both children and adults. The book, which is just £10 a copy, can be bought using the link in the bio and here 👉 https://www.justgiving.com/charity/focuscounsellinguk
Lydia said she created the book to celebrate “all Grandfathers past and present who quietly share their magic and everyone who shares their kindness and love with others.” Through the book’s beautifully illustrated pages a poetic story of adventure and hope reveals itself to the reader.
Explaining the motives behind her donation to Focus, Lydia said: “Life can be tough. I wanted to give children the encouragement to try different things, be creative and explore the outside world and to respect others and the world we live in. Children’s mental health is so important, so I will be donating all the profit made from the sale of ‘The Magician of Rook Lane’ to Focus counselling. We all have personal issues that can hold us back in life and I would like to see affordable, local counselling accessible to all in need.”
Lucia Chadwick, CEO of Focus Counselling, stated: “We are so thrilled and touched by Lydia’s beautiful book. Her inspiring story offers children and adults a positive message about being compassionate to themselves and others.✨
