We offer a calm, safe, home from home environment for your labour and the birth of your baby. The birth centre has four beautiful ensuite birth rooms, all have birth pools, mood lighting, music and equipment to support a relaxing labour and birth. We have two ensuite postnatal rooms where you can stay for 24hours and be supported with caring for your baby. The birth centre has a small team of Midwives, Maternity Support Workers and Student Midwives who will provide one to one care during labour and support in the postnatal period. We promote normality and offer: immediate skin to skin, physiological third stage, delayed cord clamping, early initiation of breastfeeding, postnatal support and advice. The staff are all trained in dealing with emergencies should they arise. Preston Birth Centre is an alongside birth centre so transfers can be facillated promptly should they be needed.
