I used to think ā€œdietingā€ meant:

āŒ Cutting out foods I enjoyed
āŒ Starting over every Monday
āŒ Living off chicken, broccoli, and misery
āŒ Feeling guilty every time I ate something ā€œbadā€

And honestly?

That approach never lasted.

What finally changed things for me was learning how to eat like an adult.

That means:

āœ”ļø Eating enough protein
āœ”ļø Having some veggies
āœ”ļø Enjoying meals with family and mates
āœ”ļø Having balance instead of extremes
āœ”ļø Focusing on consistency instead of perfection

You don’t need another detox.

You don’t need to ā€œearnā€ your food.

And you definitely don’t need to be scared of pies.

You just need a way of eating you can actually sustain for life.

I almost never joined a gym.

Not because I was lazy.
Not because I didn’t care.
Because I was scared.

As a teenager, I trained in the garage with a single dumbbell my brother handed down before he left for uni. I learned everything from old muscle magazines. Somehow… I actually got pretty decent results.

But stepping into a real gym?
That felt terrifying.

In my head, gyms were packed with huge guys who knew exactly what they were doing… and I was convinced I’d look like an idiot.

So I waited.

I told myself:
ā€œI’ll go when I’m more confident.ā€
ā€œI’ll go when I know what I’m doing.ā€
ā€œI’ll go when I’m fitter.ā€

But here’s the truth nobody tells you…

Waiting doesn’t remove fear.
It just gives it more time to grow.

Eventually, I finally walked through the doors. Heart racing. Overthinking everything. Expecting judgment.

And you know what happened?
The complete opposite of what I feared.
The guys there were welcoming. Helpful. Respectful.

Nobody cared that I was new.
Nobody expected perfection.

And it made me realise something important:
Most people don’t stay stuck because they’re incapable.
They stay stuck because they’re waiting to feel ready.

But confidence doesn’t come before action.
Confidence is the reward FOR action.

I still see this every week with people starting their fitness journey.

They think they need to ā€œget in shape firstā€ before joining a gym.

That’s like saying you need to get fit before starting fitness.

**The 5-Minute Rule that got me training when I had ZERO motivation**

You don’t need more motivation… you need a better *starting strategy*.

Here’s the rule šŸ‘‡

**Tell yourself: ā€œI’ll just do 5 minutes.ā€**

That’s it.

No pressure to smash a full workout.
No ā€œI have to be perfect today.ā€
Just 5 minutes.

* 5 minutes of movement
* 5 minutes of lifting
* 5 minutes of showing up

Because here’s the truth…

šŸ‘‰ **Starting is the hardest part.**

And once you start?
You’ll almost always keep going.

Not because you suddenly feel motivated…
But because **action creates momentum.**

Some days you’ll stop at 5 minutes. That’s fine.
You still showed up. You still won.

But most days?

You’ll end up doing 20… 30… maybe the full session.

All because you made it easy to begin.
