⚡The statistics show a HUGE difference in pain and chronic health conditions between men and women.

Women are 80-90% more likely to struggle with...

fibromyalgia
autoimmune diseases
migraines
multiple sclerosis

Why is this?

1. Women have a higher-density nerve network that evokes stronger reactions.
2. Estrogen makes our pain receptors more receptive.
3. Our amygdala activates a stronger fear response.

In my reflexology work, I successfully treat women with a long history of chronic pain, by working with the layers of the nervous system and other physical systems of the body including any underlying trauma patterns.

Chronic pain is not in your head and it can be healed.

Save and ❤️ for later.

Self-care is about making a dedicated and conscious effort to give back to ourselves physically and emotionally.

As someone who thrives on practising wellness and radical self-care and has helped hundreds of people on their own wellness journey.

I know how quickly issues like stress, self-criticism, chronic pain and feelings of powerlessness can derail our motivation and self-belief that wellness changes are possible.

As your reflexologist, I'll help you find the balance and vitality you want.

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, amidst the constant demands and pressures, sleep often takes a backseat.

As a reflexologist, one of the benefits of reflexology which we can say, is that it results in better quality sleep, this is backed up through research. Among the many studies details of a recent meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials by Huang et al (2020), the findings of which suggested that foot reflexology produced significant improvements in sleep disturbances.

Reflexology was concluded to be a non-invasive and convenient intervention and regularly receiving reflexology can be considered complementary therapy to improve the sleep quality of adults with sleep disturbances.

Many people say they experience intense throbbing head pain, sometimes accompanied by nausea and vomiting, as well as sensitivity to light and sound.

Migraines differ from person to person and triggers can be different, but in my experience, most of my clients report that after a course of treatment, their migraines have improved or disappeared.

Reflexology can work on calming and balancing all the systems of the body including the nervous system.

Reflexology also helps to ease tension in the head neck and shoulders.

I first shared this with my e-mail community it resonated with a lot of people.

It’s been a while since we connected through e-mail, I like to write to them more regularly than I have been of late.

So, why haven’t I written recently? I have been busy with reflexology clients. May has been my busiest month yet since I began practising in Norwich. I have been busy with reflexology clients.

Which is AMAZING I love that so many of you are discovering the power of Reflexology.

Yes, I could have added more to my list of work jobs and made time to write more e-mails.

But that would have been hypocritical of me.

The most important thing I have learnt over many years is the need to prioritise my own self-care (which is just as well because this is what all of my clients to do.)

My self-care comes first ALWAYS taking care of myself is a radical act of self-love, over our lifetime women particularly are taught to put the needs of others before themselves.

Maybe:

you remember being at home or school and hearing:

“Don’t just sit there!”
“If you can lean, you can clean”
“Make yourself *useful*”

Maybe you were shamed or punished if you weren’t doing. Maybe you were called lazy or compared to someone else more “productive”

Because of this our body becomes hypervigilant and we fear getting “caught” in our unproductive state. Some people can’t even relax when we hear footsteps…

Or maybe you

Were the easy daughter who was told by carers that you were the easy child, because you put everyone else before herself. The result you walk around dissociated, anxious and retreat to a fantasy life. But you wouldn’t know it to look at her because outwardly she has it all together.

Did you know that most chronic and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, migraines, lupus, fibromyalgia and chronic pain show up disproportionately in women?

There is a link

The good news is that you can feel better and a good place to start is by making your self-care non-negotiable.

As a reflexologist, I work hard to create a safe space to allow all of my clients to work with the physical, emotional, and spiritual.

🏵Has perimenopause has caught you off guard? You're not alone.

As Generation X enter the phase of life called peri-menopause and menopause.

Many women find themselves experiencing a variety of symptoms they had no idea were related to this thing called peri-menopause.

Peri-menopause, the precursor to menopause, brings with it changes that can leave you at a loss and feeling as though you don’t recognise yourself.

1. Brain fog
2. Sudden unexpected weight gain
3. Emotional rollercoaster
4. Sleep struggle
5. Hot flashes
6. Itchy creepy skin feeling

Does any of this sound familiar?

Reflexology works wonders in balancing the endocrine system, it also helps with stress by moving the body from a sympathetic to a parasympathetic state of rest and digest.

Cognitive function and mental clarity can be improved by helping to enhance blood flow to the brain.

We need your help

My fantastic wild swimming group have organised an event to help clean up the water in our beautiful river.

The first step is to ensure that the water is tested regularly.

We need your support to make a change, please share far and wide. It would be AMAZING to see anyone who can make it on the day.

Why does this matter? Apart from the obvious right to clean water and healthy rivers.

Dipping and swimming helps

Manage anxiety, stress and depression
Increase alertness, clarity and energy levels
Release endorphins (happy hormones)
Feelings of euphoria and achievement and a sense of will power
A sense of community – meet others who are swimming to have a lovely time
Reconnecting with nature

I would not be without the incredible sense of community of this group of people, let’s make it better for everyone who uses the water in which ever way they choose.

'Rest, relax and recuperate' doing this is not a luxury or something you can put off to another day.

Even so if after a few days, you are not 'feeling yourself again'...

And you become aware that you are spending long periods of time in fight or flight or shutdown (struggling to feel anything) this is the time to reach out and ask for help.

Mental health issues such as stress and anxiety can cause an inflammatory response in the body and show up as physical symptoms.

such as:
headaches, migraines, stomach aches, tiredness, chronic pain, muscle tension, digestive issues (ibis, colitis) irregular menstrual cycles and heavy painful periods, infertility and so on.

Find someone to help reach out and ask for help.

I'm a clinical reflexologist - a modality that supports all the body systems, including the nervous system, effective for trauma and emotional healing.

Stress shows up in the body in what can feel like a strange and weird ways...

tight jaw
neck and shoulders always tight and painful
chest can feel mega painful
you keep forgetting what you were saying

(of course there maybe something else going on so if your concerned talk to your health care provider.)

Locating and working with your solar plexus can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
