I first shared this with my e-mail community it resonated with a lot of people.
Itâs been a while since we connected through e-mail, I like to write to them more regularly than I have been of late.
So, why havenât I written recently? I have been busy with reflexology clients. May has been my busiest month yet since I began practising in Norwich. I have been busy with reflexology clients.
Which is AMAZING I love that so many of you are discovering the power of Reflexology.
Yes, I could have added more to my list of work jobs and made time to write more e-mails.
But that would have been hypocritical of me.
The most important thing I have learnt over many years is the need to prioritise my own self-care (which is just as well because this is what all of my clients to do.)
My self-care comes first ALWAYS taking care of myself is a radical act of self-love, over our lifetime women particularly are taught to put the needs of others before themselves.
Maybe:
you remember being at home or school and hearing:
âDonât just sit there!â
âIf you can lean, you can cleanâ
âMake yourself *useful*â
Maybe you were shamed or punished if you werenât doing. Maybe you were called lazy or compared to someone else more âproductiveâ
Because of this our body becomes hypervigilant and we fear getting âcaughtâ in our unproductive state. Some people canât even relax when we hear footstepsâŚ
Or maybe you
Were the easy daughter who was told by carers that you were the easy child, because you put everyone else before herself. The result you walk around dissociated, anxious and retreat to a fantasy life. But you wouldnât know it to look at her because outwardly she has it all together.
Did you know that most chronic and autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, migraines, lupus, fibromyalgia and chronic pain show up disproportionately in women?

The good news is that you can feel better and a good place to start is by making your self-care non-negotiable.
As a reflexologist, I work hard to create a safe space to allow all of my clients to work with the physical, emotional, and spiritual.
