Love seeing more inclusive events popping up on the island šŸ–¤

Big well done to The Wheatsheaf for hosting this Neurodivergent Night.

Spaces where people can relax, socialise and just be themselves genuinely matter.
The more understanding and inclusive community spaces we have, the better šŸ‘

Still trying to process this 🄹

Winning Dedication to the Community honestly means so much to me. What started as just an idea has grown into something I truly believe is helping families and young people across the Island.

Thank you to every single person who has supported calmandchaosclub.co.uk, booked sessions, shared posts, recommended us, donated, trusted me with your children and believed in what I’m trying to build.

As a single mum who has spent years studying, rebuilding and putting everything into creating a safe and inclusive space, this feels really emotional.

There were so many moments I nearly gave up, so to be recognised for community dedication genuinely means the world to me.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Island Community Breast Cancer Awards Night at Sandown Conservative Club for such a lovely event and for everything you do for the community šŸ’–

I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there in person on the night, but I feel incredibly grateful and honoured to have received this award.

Little Calm & Chaos update ✨

I know I’ve been a bit quiet and slower replying lately. Life has just been a lot behind the scenes and I’ve needed some time to get my head back together a bit.

But I’ve officially completed my autism assessor training šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

( We are still in the process of changing from Ltd to CIC )

Honestly this feels massive to me because it’s taken nearly 10 years in Higher Education to get here. Nearly 10 years of studying as a single mum, doing assignments at stupid times of night, placements, emotional burnout, self doubt, trying to hold everything together and still refusing to give up on the life I wanted for myself and my children.

Helping people has always been the biggest part of Calm & Chaos for me. Whether that’s support, forms, advocacy, neurodiversity or just making people feel understood and less alone.

So yeah. I’m actually really proud of myself for this one 🄹✨

Thank you to everyone who’s been patient with me while I’ve been quieter and slower getting back to messages. I appreciate you all more than you know šŸ¤

There’s something so rewarding about helping someone put into words what they go through every day and then seeing them finally get the support they deserve ā¤ļø

I do it completely for free, just off my own back, because I know how overwhelming these forms can feel when your brain is already exhausted. Sometimes people just need someone who understands how the system works, and fight their corner a bit.

Getting messages like this honestly makes my whole day 🄹✨

Afternoon little thoughts I’m having… I don’t really know, just feels worth putting it out there šŸ¤

Calm & Chaos CIC is basically me trying to bridge that gap in support here on the Isle of Wight.

Mental health on the island feels like it’s everywhere at the moment… so many people are struggling, and it can feel like there just isn’t enough accessible support when you actually need it.

And I keep coming back to this thought… if we start earlier, with children, and actually teach them how to understand and regulate big emotions, we can change things long term. We can stop the next generation from having to grow up feeling like they have to just cope on their own without support.

That’s a big part of why I’m doing this.

As a CIC, it means it’s community led and not about profit. The aim is to offer fully funded and subsidised sessions wherever possible, so support actually feels reachable for people.

What I’m trying to build is:
šŸ¤ helping children understand their emotions instead of being overwhelmed by them
šŸ¤ giving parents a space where they don’t feel judged or alone
šŸ¤ offering safe outlets when everything feels too much
šŸ¤ creating something real and local that actually supports people here on the island

It’s still forming, still growing, still very much in my head and becoming real… but the intention is there. Just meeting people where they’re at, in the calm and the chaos of it all.

Anyway… just an afternoon brain dump šŸ¤

Thank you as always

Jade

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

As we move Calm and Chaos over to a CIC, I just wanted to share a few updates with you all....

We will be closed for a short period while we make this transition and get everything set up properly behind the scenes. This step is a big one for us and will allow us to grow in a way that benefits the community even more.

I would really love to hear from you. What would you like to see from our sensory hub? Your input genuinely shapes what we create.

At the moment, our focus is on being able to fully fund sessions for SEN families who need that extra support. For families who may not meet certain thresholds, we are looking at opening up workshops focused on children’s mental health.

So far I thought the following would be a good start:

For younger children:

Calm Minds Club
Focus: emotional regulation through play

For older children
Resilient Me Sessions
Focus: confidence, coping skills, emotional understanding

Mixed / SEN friendly
Safe Space Sessions
Focus: sensory regulation & emotional support

I have worked in this field for 17 years and studied for 8, and one thing I have seen time and time again is that so much support is aimed at adults once they are already struggling. If we can start earlier by supporting children with emotional regulation and resilience, we have a real chance to make a lasting difference in their lives.

This next chapter is about building something that supports everyone, in the right way, at the right time.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

Drop me a comment or PM if you feel anything would be great to see in our hub

Thank you

APRIL FULLY FUNDED SESSION

Bit late this month guys but......

Every month I fund a small number of Calm and Chaos sessions for people who might really need it but can’t afford to come right now.

These are for all ages. It could be a child who would benefit from the sensory space, a young person having a hard time, a parent who just needs a breather, or an adult who needs to come and let everything out in the Chaos Smash.

Calm and Chaos was always meant to be a place where people can release things they have been holding in and just be themselves without judgement.

So nominations for this month are now open.

You can nominate yourself or someone else. A child, a friend, a parent, anyone you feel could really benefit from having that space.

Just send me a message and tell me a little bit about why you are nominating them. It doesn’t have to be loads.

Everything shared will stay private.

I wish I could fund everyone but each month I choose a few people who I feel would really benefit from coming in.

If someone popped into your head while reading this then send a nomination šŸ’›

Right now we’re working on changing Calm and Chaos from a Ltd company to a Community Interest Company (CIC).

This is a huge step because it means what we’re building can truly serve the community. It will allow us to apply for grants and funding so we can offer things like funded sessions and make it accessible to more families who need spaces like this.

When I look back at where I started, I never imagined I’d be here trying to build something that could help other families. But here we are, still pushing forward.

Thank you to everyone who supports it, brings their kids, shares posts, or simply believes in what we’re trying to do. It genuinely means everything.
