Do you use yoga in your school?
Do you want to?

Our fab programmes can support you in this journey to improving the wellbeing for your pupils and staff…plus it’s so much fun!

Research suggests that school-based yoga cultivates competencies in mind-body awareness, self-regulation, and physical fitness. And classroom teachers benefit as well. Taken together, these competencies may lead to improvements in students’ behavior, mental state, health, and performance, as well as teacher resilience, effectiveness and overall classroom climate."

When we stop for a moment, we give ourselves a much needed break and we can increase our energy levels. When we engage in movement, our bodies say thank you and our mood is lifted! When our mood is lifted, it's easier to overcome challenges and complete the tasks we need too!

Fun Fact Friday: Tree Pose

Trees have their own special way to communicate...

Trees can 'talk' to each other, and they even share nutrients. They manage to do this through an incredible underground system created by soil fungi.

The fungi help the trees to create a huge, intricately connected platform to both communicate and share resources- nutrients

It means that older, larger trees (known as ‘mother trees’) can be connected to hundreds of younger trees around them. They can then send nutrients, water and even whatever carbon they don’t use through the funghi network to smaller seedlings – which can boost seedling survival by as much as 4 times.

It's like us as adults, nurturing and supporting the children we care for!

As we stand together to create our human forest and community, this is what the trees are doing too!

Fun Fact Friday: Dog Pose

Did you know that dogs may lick you to say they love you, to get your attention, to help soothe themselves if they're stressed or even to show empathy! How cool is that?!

Why not try doing our dog pose? Can you wag your tail too to show you're happy?

You could start or end the day with positive statements about yourself or others that you spend the day with!

Make sure you say them out loud!

A little bit about me...

Hi, I’m Amanda 😊 I’m a primary school teacher of nearly 18 years, mostly spent teaching early years and key stage 1.

My passion has always been working with children, filling days with fun, play based learning and supporting them in their journey through childhood. I’ve always believed that emotional health and wellbeing are the building blocks for a happy and balanced life, no more so than when my own son began to struggle with episodes of extreme anxiety and those around us were not equipped to give the support that was needed.

I began filling my ‘toolbox’ with ways to help him through difficult times, turning to yoga, breathing techniques and guided meditation with great success!

I was so excited, and relieved, to find Mini Me Yoga and to train as an ambassador putting me in an amazing position to open up my ‘wellbeing toolbox’ and equip teachers, assistants, childminders, nannies, nursery staff, mums, dads, grandparents - any grown up who is interested - with a unique set of fun ‘tools’ to set their little people up for anything life throws at them. Being an ambassador also means I get to have fun with children whilst we learn how yoga can help us discover and deal with our big emotions.
