Yesterday I did some voluntary work at my daughters school. Tidying the vegetable plot area ready for the children to get in and start planting. Had a great day, the kids are hilarious and I had a little gang of them come and help me at break time ❤️

Busy planting baskets for a country pub I’m working for. I will be keeping them in the poly tunnel for a week or two to establish. It’s still a tad cold to hang outside yet.

Grow your own - Something a bit different for lockdown fresh food.
Espresso Mushroom Company pearl oyster grow your own mushroom kit

Taking just two weeks to proliferate (the mushrooms literally double in size each day after just one week), this fuss free kit is a fantastic introduction to growing your own at home. It couldn’t be easier to set up either; it’s simply a case of cutting an incision in the bark (which is made from upcycled coffee grounds), letting the bark soak in water for 12 hours, then spritzing with water with the accompanying spray bottle twice a day. Mushrooms begin to sprout after a week.

You get a lot out of this kit: once you’ve gobbled up your creations, you can start the process another time (or three times if you’re lucky).

£17.95,

Pearl Oyster Kitchen Garden shares the excitement of growing your own mushrooms on coffee grounds. Watch in amazement as mushrooms double in size every day.
