Extreme heat poses serious health risks — especially for seniors, young children, and those with existing medical conditions. At MediCentre Sussex, we encourage our patients and community to take precautions during this high-temperature period.

🧊 Stay safe with these essential tips:

✔️ Hydrate frequently – Drink water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty.
✔️ Avoid peak sun hours (11 AM – 4 PM) and stay indoors when possible.
✔️ Use cooling methods – Fans, air conditioning, and cool showers help regulate body temperature.
✔️ Wear light, breathable clothing and apply sunscreen.
✔️ Check in on vulnerable friends, family, or neighbors.

🚨 Watch for signs of heat-related illness:
• Heat exhaustion: fatigue, dizziness, excessive sweating
• Heat stroke: confusion, no sweating, high fever — This is a medical emergency.
