With 1 in 4 people at risk of experiencing a stroke in their lifetime, empowering communities with knowledge of stroke symptoms is essential. ✨ We couldn’t ask for a better kind of than being recognised by our own team — and this month, we’re thrilled to celebrate two incredible Care First 24 Employees of the Month! 🙌

October was too close to call, as both Demi and Sibo went above and beyond in their roles, showing outstanding teamwork, care, and commitment.

💙 Demi received heartfelt praise from one of our hardworking consultants, Megan:
“I just want to say a huge thank you to Demi. I told her how busy I was, and she immediately stepped in to organise temporary accommodation for one of our clients for five weeks while their property undergoes adaptations. Demi carefully searched for the right match, liaised with hosts, and carried out full risk assessments to ensure suitability — something vital to our client’s mental health. She really took a lot of pressure off me, and I truly appreciate it.”

💙 Sibo was also nominated following wonderful feedback from another lovely consultant, Sofia:
“A big thank you to Sibo and the adult clinical team who went above and beyond to ensure our client was discharged yesterday — even including a visit to a shop! We often recognise our amazing nurses and carers, but it’s important to celebrate the jewels in our clinical team too — including Sibo!”

✨✨ A great way to kick off the week! ✨✨
An introduction to a new member of staff – Mica. Welcome to Care First 24 💙💙

Mica has joined us as Paediatric Clinical Lead and has been a qualified Paediatric Nurse since 2015.

Lucky for us Mica brings with her an abundance of experience within complex care, orthopaedic, neonates, A&E and spinal cord injuries. She also has experience as a Paediatric Case Manager and spent 5 years in leadership roles within the NHS.

We asked Mica what qualities will she bring to the role, and her response was:

"I am a dedicated and compassionate person. I have a lot of leadership and management experience. I value teamwork and am committed to continuous improvement."

Mica spends most of her spare time with her family and also enjoys yoga, pilates, and plays football once a week. (maybe a future Lioness 😊)

✨ highlights the importance of supporting and actively improving the quality of life of those living with and being impacted by ADHD.

✅ Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition that affects people’s behaviours, making them restless, inattentive and impulsive. Many have difficulty paying attention, being still, remembering things, or controlling their impulses.

✅ People with will not always fall into all of these categories, i.e. around 2 to 3 in 10 people with the condition have problems with concentrating and focusing, but not with hyperactivity or impulsiveness.

✅ ADHD is usually diagnosed in childhood, but can last into adulthood.

It would be good to live in a world that views Neurodiversity and thinking differently as a strength, whilst acknowledging and understanding the difficulties associated with ADHD.

Care First 24 now has a rolling apprenticeship programme.

If you are interested in becoming a nurse on a 4-year degree course or a nursing associate on a 2-year degree course, then there are good reasons to choose the apprenticeship route. You can earn a wage while you learn, no student loans to pay back. You will get support from us as your employer to enable you to succeed.

To be eligible to apply for the course you must meet the following criteria:
✅ You must be employed by Care First 24 at the start of the apprenticeship and work soley for Care First 24 on a PAYE contract.
✅ All mandatory training should be up to date, and you should have an excellent record in terms of attendance and performance.
✅ You will need to have Math and English qualifications (at GCSE A to C or grade 4 or above for the new qualifications) or functional skills level 2* If you have not got these qualifications you will need to complete these prior to starting the course.
✅ You must be eligible for the government apprenticeship funding

It's time! 🤩

Here is a perfect example of how the care and compassion our clients receive from our fully trained team of carers and nurses can have a positive effect, not only on our clients but their family members too.

So proud to share this lovely feedback from one of the people we care for 👇

He expressed high levels of satisfaction with all carers involved in his care. He was particularly impressed by the team’s responsiveness and reliability while he was away, noting that the carers stepped up when needed and provided excellent support. He shared his gratitude and stated he “can’t thank them enough.”
