The NEST

The NEST A safe space for parents and carers to enjoy time with their little people and find help and support, however that looks for you, if you need it.

This is a perinatal support group based in Westhoughton that supports parents and carers whatever the need. We can support people struggling with low moods, anxious thoughts, worries through pregnancy and beyond. We can signpost to other groups and agencies that can help with practical needs for you and your home. We want to tackle loneliness, help with mental health worries, helping with socialising and meeting new people or just bringing your friends along with you to encourage your journey with your baby and child. Our aim is to help your Nurturing journey with your baby and child, by Encouraging you with Support to help you Thrive.

Good Morning Everyone.

What is with this weather? Grey skies and rain doesn't really bring joy but as I was driving over to Westhoughton from Bolton, I saw the most beautiful rainbows.

Sometimes its looking through the glum and seeing the joy...

I will be at The Hub At Westhoughton 10:00-11:00 today.

MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

Subject: Emergency Alert System Testing 7th September 2025

The UK Government's Emergency Alert System will be tested on Sunday, 7th September 2025 at 3:00 PM BST. We are aware of concerns about its potential impact on domestic abuse victims, particularly those with concealed phones. Please see below the key risks for domestic abuse victims, and information on opting out.

Key Risks for Domestic Abuse Victims
• Loud alerts: The test will trigger a siren-like sound and vibration on mobile phones for about 10 seconds, even if the device is on silent
• Hidden devices: For survivors who keep a concealed phone for safety or emergency contact, this alert could expose the device’s presence to an abuser
• Technology-facilitated abuse: There are concerns that alerts could be misused by abusers to detect hidden phones, adding to the growing issue of technology-facilitated abuse

Further details and instructions on how to opt out can be found via the following links:
