Still Minds Counselling

Still Minds Counselling Still minds offer adult person centred counselling, both face to face and online. Why work with Me? What got me into it?

I offer a safe space, allowing clients the time to find out why they feel the way they do and along the way find ways to improve negative thought patterns. Face to Face Sessions

Still minds is based in Whitley Bay, where I hold face to face sessions in my garden counselling room, where we can talk in a safe, peaceful setting. A Covid risk assessment has been carried out and all safety measures have been taken to keep the space safe. I am 2 minutes walk from a metro station and there is free parking available outside

Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held once a week although longer sessions and more/less frequent bookings can be discussed depending on the needs of the client

Online sessions

Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home and confidentiality is maintained. Online sessions can be as beneficial as working in person and when clients live in rural areas such as Northumberland or as far as Indianapolis, they can still access sessions easily. Accessing sessions is easy and all instructions will be given all a client needs is a device able to connect to the internet and I quiet place to talk. Free initial consultation

Finding a counsellor who matches your needs can be difficult and making sure they work in a way which is best for you and your situations is important to the progress which can be made. That's why I offer a free initial consultation either online or via the phone so clients can get to know me and my approach. It is also an opportunity for you to tell me about something which is bringing you to counselling and ask any questions you may have. We can all have negative thoughts such as 'I'm not good enough’, 'I'm unlovable' or overthinking 'what will happen next'. We can even try and predict the future 'something bad will definitely happen', but these thoughts can often be extremely unhelpful. It is when these thoughts don't stop or start to take over making us feel and act differently then it is time to stop and talk. I specialise in working with low-mood, anxiety and depression. I have a person-centred approach, with every client being an individual and providing them with a safe and non-judgemental space to be heard. I am a qualified counsellor holding a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a member of the National Counselling Society. I often get asked why I do the job I do and although it can be difficult the reward of being part of a process where a person improves their mental wellbeing often from a very low point is what drives me to continue. Counselling can often be a difficult process but the benefits when it works can be life changing. I am also passionate about removing the Stigma around ‘mental health’ and this passion drives me in my work to make every client feel safe, accepted and able to be heard freely.
