As the weather gets colder, please remember puffy coats and car seats are unsafe.

Those big fluffy jackets may look cozy, and you might think it’s keeping them safe but in an event of a crash that fluffy jacket compresses and when it does, those straps that felt tight can suddenly be too loose and unsafe.

That’s all it takes for a child to be ejected from their seat.

The safest way is to buckle them in snugly without the coat.

You can simply add a warm blanket or put a coat on backwards over the straps so your baby is cozy.

It’s inconvenient, but it can make all the difference to keeping your baby safe.

Keep warm, stay safe.
