I love what I do because I get to meet so many wonderful children and share my passion for the early years with them and their families. I am also a licensed Speech and Language tutor and incredibly interested in speech and language development so I always plan activities which support this. Hi I'm Naomi the proud owner of Little Lambs Music - we provide baby and toddler fun sensory music classes.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to run your own baby and toddler classes well in this post I'm going to share with you some of the things I've discovered along the way.

Best part of the job - working with so many amazing children and families seeing the children enjoy the songs take part explore the instruments it is really is a joy to watch.

How did I get into this? I was a primary teacher before I went on MAT leave and I decided I wanted a job that was flexible that would fit around my own family.

What does my days look like? Typically I run classes in the mornings around my child's pre school schedule then I do some light admin jobs and general mum life.

Do I need to be a teacher? - No you need to be passionate about working with children and confident to sing children's songs you don't have to be a great singer kids love enthusiasm.

Where can I run classes? - community, birthdays and nurseries are all places we either run or have run classes from.

Can you guess the rhyme?

In our picture there is a clue to the rhyme we are thinking of. The nursery rhyme is over 270 years old!! But it's still a great song to sing to little ones.

Did you know nursery rhymes actually started out as spoken word the melodies were added later on.

So why is it important to have a plethora of songs for children. including the older ones?

Which ones do you include and why?

How many do you sing? How do you weave them into play and at what age?

I am very excited to announce I will be doing a session all about nursery rhymes and the power they have for our children particularly for speech and language.

Hello friends fun fact about me when I colour co ordinatie it’s a pure coincidence 🤣🤣

But that said I am loving my pink hat and jumper look.

I’m just about to go and pick my little girl up from Pre School hence why I’m wearing my hat indoors but I just wanted to pop on here really quickly and tell you about an exciting opportunity.

My mornings used to start with me leaving the house at 7:20 to get to work in order to be able to prep organise and get ready to start my teaching day. I loved working with children, but when my own child came along I decided that I couldn’t sustain the hours and also be around for her as much as I wanted to.

With that in mind, I did not return back to my job after maternity leave. I love spending time with her and being present, but I also wanted something for myself. I wanted something to think about other than just being a mum.

So I started my own business I went into the Baby and toddler sector as I was confident working with children although I have to admit I had not got much experience working with this age group usually I’ve been teaching primary school children he were aged about seven.

However we started a small running a few classes a week and suddenly they got really popular and I realised that I was onto something good.  Yes there are lots of classes but I have managed to take my business to various locations, nurseries birthday parties and even had to sell out sessions.

So how do you come in? Well maybe you’re looking to get back to work or maybe you’re looking to change maybe you’re looking for something that is gonna give you flexibility a great work life balance that is super rewarding and lots of fun and also and gets you an income.

Happy New Year 🥳 January is bringing a lot of fabulous things my way and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Last year I had to take some time away from physically putting on classes for a couple of different reasons but did that mean my business stopped? No I kept going with some small manageable projects and managed to earn an income along side support and care for my family while we navigated an incredibly challenging time that rocked our world 🌍.

I did all of this while studying part time and I’m continuing to do this. I’m taking Little Lambs into 2026 as a brand that works for me a very busy mum who’s fabulous little girl is awaiting a ASD diagnosis.

So why am I going on about this… well now I’ve tested the waters and seen how my amazing business can work on so many levels and how it can still generate an income despite not having much time I’m ready to launch Little Lambs into the market and help successful parents like you who want a flexible working life a fun magical world to work in (no days are ever the same working with children) and earn an income.

We hope you've all had a lovely summer whether you've been away or had days out summer with children is fast and fun anyone been asked for an ice cream for breakfast? 🤣

I am preparing for September which looks a bit different this year as I mentioned previously I am taking some time in my week for my family which unfortunately meant I had to pause my community classes. I think as mums we try and juggle so much and sometimes we have to take a step back and be realistic with what we can mange I am a big believer of self care and sometimes that means not being able to do everything!

I will be continuing to work with some amazing nurseries so Lizzy and Louie lamb will still get an opportunity to shake their maraca. 🥰

And finally September also means our little lamb is off to pre school for full days!! I can't honestly believe how quickly she is growing up the other day I looked at photos and she seemed so little and it was only a year ago! 🥹🥹

Hello everyone

I wanted to write about classes a few months ago we experienced a very traumatic event over my husband’s health and since then we have been navigating a complicated health system.

It is with utter sadness to say I won’t be able to run community classes anymore due to focusing on my family. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me on this journey it’s been amazing working with you all.

I’d like to say this isn’t goodbye it’s see you soon.

Hi everyone just a little update from me a few weeks ago we had a family emergency with my husbands health I can confirm everything is ok now but it does mean I won’t be doing any more community classes for a while. I was planning
some summer pop ups but right now I would like to take some time to focus on my family.

I would like to thank everyone for being so understanding and in the summer I will be showcasing the franchise potential I have with Little Lambs.
