🩡 Today is World Mental Health Day 🩡

Mental Health is the reason I discovered Yoga and often what brings me back to daily practice if I am 'too busy' to take time to myself for a period of time. Wellbeing is also my main focus whenever I teach.

It doesn't matter whether it's a 30 minute Vinyasa flow session every morning or a 5 minute Yin Yoga stretch before bed every night. Yoga for me is about taking time to myself to listen to my mind, body and emotions. It's dedicated time for me to slow down my thoughts, simply rest, notice what I'm feeling emotionally and physically, and maybe even gain insight into what I need in that moment πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

Yoga is the best medicine for me πŸ™

It's almost time for your next block of Raine Yoga and Wellness classes at Opal Aerial & Wellness Studio 🩡

All of the following dates can be attended ad hoc or, if you book onto all 5 in advance, then you will get all 5 classes for the price of 4 😍

Week 1 - Monday 9th October - 6pm
Week 2 - Monday 16th October - 6pm
Week 3 - Monday 23rd October - 6pm
Week 4 - Monday 30th October - 6pm
Week 5 - Monday 6th November - 6pm

You will begin this next block of classes by recieving a couple of free gifts from me and then you will be encouraged to take time out each week to stretch, relax and let go of any tension you may be carrying. Whilst really listening to your body and taking the time to notice any emotions you may be experiencing, you can then start to recognise what you really need each week. I aim to provide you with your very own safe space to take 45 minutes minimum per week to yourself to do this πŸ§Žβ€β™€οΈ

The main Yoga style you will have the option to explore for the next 5 weeks is Hatha, where you will have the time to hold each pose for at least a few breaths if you wish, so that you can relax into the poses whilst also building strength and flexibility. There will be an option to visit other Yoga styles if this is requested and, as always, this is optional. This is your time and your practice πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

There will also be an option to explore breathwork techniques and we will incorporate other subjects in our classes, such as the Chakras, Astrology and Aromatherapy. Each class will include a guided and/or silent meditation and there will also be an option to set yourself weekly Mindfulness goals every Monday if you wish. (E.g. "this week, I will take 5 minutes to myself to..."). Again, it is your choice to silently attend the classes and leave when the guided session is over or share your experiences with the rest of the lovely group each week πŸ₯°

Individual classes are £5 per person per class or you can book the whole block for just £20, please feel free to message me to book and/or for more info. 🩡

Our new Autumn Equinox Yoga video is currently uploading to YouTube. I almost didn't share this one as I'm extremely bloated at the moment, I think my outft isn't flattering at all and Mowgli (my cat) nearly knocked me over at one point too! (She will be given plenty of food and water in another room with the door closed in future πŸ™ˆ)

However, this is Yoga and this is life. Sometimes you look and feel great, you can't wait to share photos and videos of you doing handstands and/or looking extra bendy. Other days, you feel a bit rubbish and just want to stretch and meditate for longer. This is all Yoga and my classes are ALL about listening to your mind, body & soul and doing what you need right now. This is your practice, not mine, and I have good days and not so good days too 🩡

Tomorrow is Mabon. Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are equal, making it a time of balance, equality and harmony. In ancient times Mabon was a celebration of the second harvest (Lughnasadh was the first) when farmers gathered hearty foods like gourds, pumpkins, grapes and apples.

Modern Mabon celebrations are a time to give thanks for the abundance of Mother Earth - both literally and spiritually. It’s also a good time to reflect on the Wheel of the Year, recognizing your successes and letting go of the things that did not serve you during the past twelve months πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
