WHY ARE βPATIENTSβ DIFFERENT TO βCLIENTSβ? π€
Although the two words probably donβt mean much to the average Joe, itβs our practitioner, Chans, massive bug bearer!! π
Hereβs what Chan has to say about this post -
βThe term "patient" for me is something Iβve known my whole professional life.
Graduating with a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and moving into the cardiovascular sector, all βpersonsβ Iβve ever treated have been my patients.
For me a βpatientβ is someone who relies on my expertise, knowledge and professional qualification to treat them of which I have worked extremely hard for over the last 10 years.
On top of this I am currently undertaking a Masters university qualification of which, again, I am treating patients with the knowledge I am gaining every day undertaking this course.
The term βpatientβ implies a certain level of vulnerability and dependence on a medical professional, something a βclientβ would not require as they (for me) are someone who seeks advice or guidance from a service.
Following through with professional aftercare, guidance and paperwork all play a part in a patients journey with us here in our clinic.
For me, Aestheticlinix treats patients, not clientsβ
