At our GP practice, our priority is making sure every patient gets the right care, at the right time, from the right professional.
Not every health issue needs a GP appointment. Some problems are better, quicker, and more appropriately managed by:
•Your local pharmacy
•Self-referral services
•Community or specialist services
When our team signposts you, it’s not to be awkward or unhelpful it’s because following these pathways helps:
•Get you help faster
•Keep GP appointments available for patients with complex or urgent medical needs
•Keep the service safe and sustainable for everyone
When patients refuse signposting and insist on a GP appointment that isn’t clinically appropriate, it unfortunately:
•Delays care for others
•Increases pressure on already limited appointments
•Makes it harder for us to meet the needs of the most unwell patients
Our reception and clinical teams work to national guidance and practice policy. They are doing their best to help all patients, every day.
Please be kind, patient, and trust the advice you are given. Signposting is part of good medical care, not a barrier to it.
Thank you for your understanding and support. 💙
