🚨 A Gentle Reminder: Your GP Surgery Is Not an Urgent Care Service 🚨

We’re here to help with a wide range of health concerns but recently, we’ve seen a big rise in urgent and same-day appointment requests for problems that aren’t emergencies.

🩺 GP surgeries are designed for ongoing and routine care, such as:

New or long-term health conditions

Medication reviews and prescriptions

Follow-up appointments

Non-urgent symptoms that need assessment

πŸ₯ If you need urgent help, please use the right service for your situation:

Call 999 for life-threatening emergencies (e.g. chest pain, severe bleeding, collapse)

Call NHS 111 for urgent medical advice when the surgery is closed or you’re unsure what to do

Visit your local pharmacy for quick help with many minor illnesses such as coughs, sore throats, ear infections, or skin rashes

πŸ’Š Why we use Pharmacy First

Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals who can safely treat many common conditions without needing a GP appointment.
Using Pharmacy First means you can often:

Get seen quickly, without waiting for a GP slot

Receive expert treatment and advice

Free up GP appointments for patients who need more complex medical care

By using the right service, you’re helping us keep same-day GP appointments available for those who truly need urgent medical attention and making sure everyone gets the right care, in the right place, at the right time πŸ’™

Thank you for your understanding and support πŸ™

‼️ How Our Patient Triage System Works ‼️

Its now quick and easy to contact us online using our Accurx Patient Triage system πŸ’¬

πŸ’» Step 1: Go to our website where you will see Contact Us Online "Submit a new request"

Which will give you the following link
https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/m91013

Fill out a short form to tell us about your health problems, admin or routine care requests, which includes fit (sick) notes, repeat prescriptions, reviews, screening and vaccinations

πŸ‘‰ The link is only available during surgery hours so that we can review requests safely and promptly.

πŸ• Please tell us your availability
When completing the form, let us know if there are any days or times you’re not available.
This really helps us offer you an appointment that suits you and avoids delays if we offer a time you can’t attend.
(If you put β€œavailable anytime,” we’ll assume you can attend any time during our surgery hours.)

πŸ‘©β€πŸ’Ό Step 2: A member of staff reviews your request

Once you submit your form, a member of our team reviews it and decides what kind of help you need.
We aim to respond as quickly as possible, but it can take up to 3 working days for us to reply depending on demand and the nature of your request.

πŸ“… Step 3: We respond

We’ll get back to you with the most appropriate next step: a message, phone call, or appointment.

This system helps make sure you get the right care, from the right person, at the right time, without waiting on hold.

Thank you for using our online triage it helps us care for all our patients more quickly and efficiently!

Last week the surgery had a visit from the amazing Marie curie team.

Thanks to your generosity, many visitors took the opportunity to learn more about Marie Curie and chose to support us – whether by setting up regular donations, expressing interest in volunteering, or joining one of our fundraising events. The response was incredibly positive and encouraging.

Together, we raised a fantastic Β£208.32 which will provide 9 hours of nursing care for Marie Curie patients. This support makes a real difference in the lives of those we care for - Thank you! πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

🚨 The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system today (7 September) at 3pm.

Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. You will not need to take any action.

The system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather. Regular testing ensures that it is functioning correctly, should it need to be used in a life-threatening emergency.

There are over 100 strains of the HPV virus. Some are called high-risk as they may lead to certain cancers, including cervical, pe**le and a**l.

If anyone has missed their HPV vaccine at school, the NHS is inviting people aged 16–25 to catch up.
