I’ve had this guitar for a while, from a very patient customer. I have to say thank you to all my customers who are willing to wait to either bring a guitar in, or drop one off and wait for me to fit it in.
Anyway, this very nice 25th anniversary Harley Benton is punching! That gold finish, roasted maple neck, locking tuners, etc. the customer wants this to be the best it can be, as a good gigging guitar so he asked me to fit a DiMarzio Pickups The Chopper, with a push push coil split. It’s also had a jack socket and some new Harley Benton roller string trees, and a fresh setup with Elixir Strings.
Catch this guitar on stage soon with band around Wilmslow and Handforth.

Hello all. A quick post for the weekend. This is a repeat customer. A young lad who just wanted a new set of strings. A bit of appreciation due for his choice of guitar though. This Squier by Fender Stratocaster looks very classy indeed! Got a soft spot for a ‘big head’ strat!

Big guitar update! Ahead of their upcoming shows Rosellas have asked me once again to give their guitars a check over and service. Rather than posting SEVEN different posts, here’s an update covering all.
Rosellas recently announced new music and a new contract with a new label. Great things ahead in the near future.
Here’s Drew’s Fender Stratocaster and Jazzmaster, Epiphone 339, Harley Benton T style, Euan’s Epiphone Casino and 335 Dot, and Ollie’s Squier Jazz Bass. Enjoy, and look out for these guitars on stage soon!

this week is another great Harley Benton guitar. This time it’s a #335 style semi hollow guitar that came in for a pickup swap. The customer not only supplied these superb pickups but also a superbly made Monty's Guitars pre wired harness. Installation wasn’t exactly a breeze. I had to enlarge the holes for the volume and tone pots and the switch. The hole centres were not aligned so I had to adjust the lengths of the earth connections to allow for a bit more free space. This I discovered AFTER installing the harness, when trying to fit the last volume pot, so out it came again! All good now and I’m very pleased to report the customer is very happy with the result. I’ve fitted his choice of Humbucker at the bridge and P90 at the neck. I’ve also given it the usual Cygnus care, with a fretboard clean and oil, checked and levelled several frets then polished them. Fitted a new set of Newtone Strings 10-46 gauge and sorted the action, intonation and neck relief.

And with this, we say a farewell to 2025. Once again a huge thank you to my customers for your trust and support this year. A guitar is a very personal thing, so to be able to work on your prized instruments and get the feedback that I have, with comments like ‘plays better than ever’, or ‘it’s like new again’ means a lot. Have a safe, peaceful and healthy new year and keep playing! Here are a few highlights from the year…
