Laser hair removal utilises a highly concentrated beam of light, providing accurate and powerful results due to its focused nature. 💡 On the other hand, IPL (intense pulse light) hair removal uses weaker and more diffused light energy. Only a small percentage of this energy effectively immobilises the hair follicle, making it less efficient than laser hair removal. (And for those with blonde hair or Asian skin, IPL can be more painful and ineffective.)

Wondering whether hair removal is permanent? 🤔 Laser hair removal does permanently treat your existing hair follicles, so in that sense, yes, it's a permanent treatment. However, over time, you may notice new hair follicles appearing.

During the process, laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles, heating and damaging them to inhibit future hair growth. While this reduces hair growth effectively, it doesn't stop new follicles from forming.

The extent of new follicles appearing depends on your ethnic background and hormonal balance, which we'll discuss during your Consultation. So, while laser hair removal offers long-lasting results, occasional top-up treatments may be needed to manage any new hair growth.
