Loved “The Unsettled Baby” weekend with the fabulous Miranda Clayton at the London School of Osteopathy. We covered loads of hands on techniques which we applied to each other and to Miranda’s rather freaky feeling silicone baby! Revised the anatomy, physiology and pathology of conditions such as PAIN, COLIC, REFLUX, PURPLE CRYING and constipation. Continued Professional Development hours tick!

I’ve been asked a couple of times recently if Hagrid is still alive. He used to come into clinic when he was younger. Here he is, the blond one, at 14 and a half years of age, with his uncle, Beasley, 13 and a half. Both very much alive. Both a bit deaf, with age-related cataracts, but still full of beans and keeping the dog-walkers on their toes! They’re Australian Service Dogs, bred to be disability assistance dogs, they’re bomb-proof, loving, faithful and funny! We’ve been very lucky to have them in our lives.

As Van Bessel’s book, “The Body Keeps The Score” discusses, all our mental emotions affect our physical body. I see it everyday in my patients, myself, my family and friends. One of the big stressors is being time poor. I came across this visual by Justin Mecham showing different methods to use your time well. I’m going to give some of them a try. Once I’ve stopped doomscrolling!!! Have any of these works for you?

🌿 New Clinic Location in Wi******er 🌿

I’m delighted to share that I now have a lovely space to work from in central Wi******er, in Chilbolton Avenue (near the hospital)

✨ Free parking right outside
✨ Easy access – all on the ground floor, no stairs or big steps

For now, I’m seeing a limited number of patients on weekday mornings only while I continue recovering from ill health. I’m not able to offer home visits at this stage.

On Saturday morning I met up with Anneken of AM child Sleep at The Cabinet Rooms to find out about what makes her different from the other child sleep experts, and to glean some tips and habits to share with my patients struggling to get their little ones to sleep.
Anneken is a part-time Clinical Nurse Specialist in children’s sleep medicine at Southampton Hospital. There are only 4 such clinics in the country! She also has a private practice for children with sleep problems who would not be eligible for treatment at the hospital.
I don’t think she’s charging nearly enough for her services. If you need some help I’d definitely recommend contacting her. Wish I’d met her when my two were little and not sleeping!
