Cherokee Descendent Prayer for Thanksgiving... Enjoy! 🦃

Great Mystery,
I am humbled that I will never know everything about you, but I am grateful that through the lives of the other I can know more of you. While I thank you for those who are like me, I especially thank you for those who are different than me. I thank you for those who are younger than me and those older than me; for those who have less than me and those who have more than me; for those more physically able than me and those less physically able than me; for those whose skin is of a lighter hue than me and those of a darker hue than me; for those of a different gender than me and those of the same gender as me; for those of a different worldview than me and those with a similar worldview to mine. May we together discover a new story for our country where everyone has an equal voice—even those with whom we disagree and even with those who have no voice.
I am thankful for Turtle Island [1], that it can become a place where freedom can take hold and become a place where one day we will all be equal under the law, both under the prevailing social structures, and in our own minds. And for the land itself; may you work through us to restore it to your most beautiful intentions. May all of your creatures, the four-legged, the swimmers, the flying things, the crawling things, and the two-legged creatures all be able to have a home on your land. May we make the water sacred once again, the first medicine that provides life to all your creation. May it not be commodified so as to keep it out of the reaches of any of your creatures, and may it be kept in a way that shows the respect for it that you gave it when you made the water such an important part of this earth.
As I look around this circle we call Mother Earth, I am thankful to you that it is a sacred circle and in the circle no one is more, nor less, than the other. As I look around the sacred circle, I see that I am related to all your creation and that each one in the circle is as sacred as me. You have given us all stories to tell but in all our stories we find you. It is the you in the other that I most value Great Mystery. Please teach me about myself in this sacred circle so I may know you and reflect you more on this good earth, the whole community of creation, including humans. Thank you!

The number of children referred to emergency mental healthcare in England has soared by more than 50% in three years, according to data laying bare the impact of lengthy waiting lists for regular NHS treatment.
There were 32,521 emergency and urgent referrals to child and adolescent mental health services crisis teams in 2022-23, analysis of official data by the Royal College of Psychiatrists revealed. In 2019-20, the year before the Covid pandemic, the figure was 21,242.
As devastating as these figures are, there is help right around the corner. Brain Working Recursive TherapyÂŽ is a quick process. You may be surprised as to just HOW quickly the very positive feelings BWRT will bring about. All we need to do, is to change your neurology. This can happen in one session. It is completely private. Imagine you've never met a stranger...?

In the Cherokee language, this concept of well-being is often called Eloheh (pronounced ay-luh-HAY). The Cherokee meaning of well-being is deep and resonant, and it is hard to capture in English. Eloheh means “well-being,” yes, but it means so much more. Eloheh—what some traditions call the Harmony Way—describes a state of being when all is as it should be or as it was created to be. Eloheh means that people are at peace, not at war; that the Earth is being cared for and producing in abundance, so no one goes hungry. Eloheh means people are treating each other fairly and that no one is a stranger for very long.

BWRTme can't create in you perfect harmony... but it CAN change your behaviour to allow harmony to resonate within you when confronted with something causing its opposite within your core being. You know the feeling...

Imagine NOT being intimidated by your boss! Imagine NOT flinching at the sight of police cars? Imagine NOT feeling anxious before a presentation or an exam! Imagine feeling like strangers can be treated as friends (with boundaries of course!)

There is impracticality to violence. It’s ineffective and has been ineffective throughout the world for too many years. We must not let people who romanticize or mythologize violence persuade us that it has proven to be efficacious…. It has proven to be the most ineffective weapon. It drains emotional, psychological, moral, and spiritual energy with no good consequences.

I want to urge you today to the spiritual and moral task of creating a revolution that is utterly necessary in the twenty-first century. And when I use the term revolution, I do not mean violence.

From the perspective of Gandhi, nonviolence is the use of power to try to resolve conflicts, injuries, and issues in order to heal and uplift, to solidify community, and to help people take power into their own hands and use their power creatively. Nonviolence makes the effort to use power responsibly.

If you struggle with anger, there is usually a connection between those powerful emotions & past traumatic experiences you or those you love have endured. Contact me at BWRTme.com for your revolution! It all begins with the brain!

Rev. James Lawson (1928–2024) was an influential teacher of nonviolence in the civil rights movement, insists on the effective power of nonviolence.

Mental Health Talk is Not New… But Often Still
Uncomfortable

I read a wonderful article this morning that made me take pause. How DO these star Olympian athletes handle the pressures and challenges that ride alongside their innate talents? What of their internal battle? Are they just stronger than the rest of us, these proverbial Olympian Gods and Goddesses?

“Athleticism is about the symbiosis of mental acuity and physical fortitude. Yet it was refreshing to see that a celebrated gymnast showing the courage to show her vulnerability as both athlete and human.
Going for gold is one thing, but going for gold under the buckling weight of ailing mental health is a feat that deserves its own award category entirely. It's a subject that's been overlooked and hushed up in vague statements about why athletes have decided to take break from their sports for far too long – until now.”

Can’t we all aim for the gold of positive mental health AND fortitude in our daily lives whatever our vocation?

Yes! Imagine a world where Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists and Psychologists don’t conjure an image of psychopathy or psychosis?!

Never be afraid to grab hold of the ring if you need it. Find a trusted therapist near you and go for your Personal Best!

We are revived by the stories that we tell about our reality, our bodies, our spirits, and our God. These stories challenge and unsettle us. They touch us in places that facts seldom reach and often move us to action.

We tell our stories because all of us have survived something, because stories are signposts from the past that give us clues about the future. Finally, our stories are a witness to the next generation and an opportunity to understand the universal as well as the particular in tales of trauma, healing, and survival.

Let us today remind ourselves that we all have a story and maybe, just maybe, when the person before us is unlovable or unlikable, the story behind them is worthy of embrace.

This Iguana doesn’t grieve! His reptilian complex knows only s*x, food & freeze or flight… Must be nice, right?!?

The human brain has come a long way, but we still often get caught fleeing from our pain.

The human instinct is to block suffering and pain. This is especially true in the West where we have been influenced by the “rationalism” of the Enlightenment. As anyone who has experienced grief can attest, it isn’t rational. We really don’t know how to hurt! We simply don’t know what to do with our pain.

Brain Working Recuraive Therapy (BWRT) WORKS! We work in those places of the brain where painful memories hide & chip away at our souls, leeching off other parts of our psyche.

Quick and pain free BWRT works at the source. The reptilian complex. What are you waiting for? Book a session today!
