Delph House Care Home

Delph House Care Home We are a Residential Care Home for Elderly People, some with Dementia, on the Norfolk, Cambridgeshi Delph House is set in 2 ½ acres of landscaped gardens.

Delph House is the former rectory of the attractive and unspoilt Fenland village of Welney. It has been extended to provide purpose-built accomodation as a retirement home for elderly people. Our residents receive 24 hour support and care where needed, and help and encouragement to maintain independence as far as possible. Some of our residents are able to manage their own affairs and some have a

relative or professional advisor holding power of attorney. Some of our residents have Dementia such as Alzheimer's disease or other forms of memory loss. Our staff are trained to provide appropriate care and support for these residents. Our home has a friendly family atmosphere, is set in delightful landscaped gardens and is close to village amenities including the shop, pub and restaurant, and the Welney Wildlife Trust which attracts many visitors. Our facilities

Our most vital resource is our friendly and committed team of staff. For a new resident moving into a care home can be a difficult time for him or her and their family. Our staff will help to make the move as easy as possible by carefully identifying individual needs, regularly reviewing them, and always treating clients with professionalism and dignity. There is a smooth path running all around the buildings to make walking safe and easy, and residents and visitors are encouraged to go out and enjoy the shrubs and flowers. There are garden seats within reach and a summer-house in one corner of the lawn. We are situated on the A1101 between Littleport and Wisbech. Other towns within easy reach include Downham Market, Ely, March and Chatteris. If you would like more information please Email: delph@365carehomes.co.uk

Its officially jam season. We have made about 3 litres of cherry plum jam. It's been such a success we are in desperate need of jars. If anyone is throwing any out please could we take them off your hands? We can also use any of your excess fruit.
Giving residents homemade organic food where we know whats in it....got to be woth it.

Kind Regards as always

Jeanie Anders

Which looks the most appetising? Working with so many lovely residents means we work with lots of choices and dietary needs. We absolutely understand the importance of delicious homemade food. Some of our lovely residents have been prescribed a pureed diet. This does not mean these meals are not as appetising as normal textured food. In all these pictures all of the same meal is served (we didn't serve picture 1 its an example) on that menu is
1) Slow braised chicken in a creamy chicken sauce
2)Carrots cooked in orange thyme and butter
3) Pea potato and mint puree
4)Cauliflower cheese puree
We all eat with our eyes first. The second and third picture shows the same meal presented to meet the needs of the residents. One likes the food in a dish so he can feed himself and the other likes it on a plate so they feel the same as the other residents.
Taking time to present food in a way which makes it look more tempting can only have good outcomes. Stable weight, Good skin integrity, healthy bodies and satisfied taste buds

Our homemade berry pavlova. MERINGUE made by our cook. We are looking at inclusivity with our menus. We understand all our residents dietary needs. This can be a safety requirement or a preference.
Berry Pavlova
1) Blended and put through a seive for those residents cannot or don't want lumps. This can be served like a fool consistency or mixed with more cream for a more liquid consistency
2)Fruit and Cream mixed with soft spongefor those who prefer or need a soft but not pureed diet
3) As it comes for those residents with no dysphagia.

Which ever way your loved one needs or wants their food we always try and present this as appetising as all the other dishes...
