Re post from the lovely Lynda Kinsella.. xx❤️
This especially poignant as Dame Barbara Windsor is admitted to a care home. She looks absolutely marvellous for her age and yet she no longer recognises her husband. So many years stolen away.
Someone once said when you love someone with dementia you lose them more and more everyday. When they are diagnosed, when they go through different stages, when they go into care and when they die. 😢 This is called “Ambiguous Loss.”
‘Rapidly shrinking brain’ is how doctors described it. I wouldn't wish Dementia on anyone. As the persons brain slowly dies, they change physically and eventually forget who their loved ones are. They can eventually become bedridden, unable to move and unable to eat or drink.💔
There will be people who will scroll by this message because dementia has not touched them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has fought or is fighting a battle against Dementia.
To raise awareness of this cruel disease, I would appreciate it if my friends could put this on your page for today.
Hold your finger anywhere on the message to copy and paste to your Timeline.💛💛💛
For all those that have had friends or family members living with Dementia 😞
Special Thank you to all willing to post to their time line.
Happy Easter everyone. 🐣🐣What a strange time we find ourselves in. I do hope you’re all being safe & sensible & staying home as much as possible. It’s the only way we can combat this virus- is to not spread it.
It’s important not just for our physical health but our emotional wellbeing too, to stay as active as possible. By that I mean, some exercise according to your ability, not beyond- you all know what I mean if you’re patients of mine & you’ll know who I mean! 😁. If I’ve given you exercises, then please continue with them.
It’s fabulous weather, so walk around your garden or do some gentle exercises. Take a walk or cycle (if appropriate) whilst the parks are still open, ONCE a day, keeping your distance from others. Even a few extra trips up stairs will do too! Gentle stretches can be done sitting down as well.
Enjoy this time as much as you can; focus on the joy of having the opportunity to be with loved ones, likely we’ll never have the chance to have such quality time with them or indeed ourselves again.
For my part, I’m still at the clinic - only 1-2 mornings a week, so if an emergency arises, I’m here, gloved, masked, gel & disinfection in action. I’ve volunteered to the NHS, I’m a responder, not been called upon yet. And I’m making sure I follow all the guidelines with regard to exercise, relaxing, and most importantly am STAYING HOME when not at clinic or cycling occasionally.
We will be much better, stronger, healthier & happier if we stick together now for OUR future.
Stay well & safe. And see you soon! 🌈🌈🌈🧡🧡🧡
Happy weekend folks. No doubt quieter than usual. So make the most of it, by enjoying the quiet, doing all those things you’ve not had time for- meditating, an on-line workout (I’ve done 2 today)!, (thanks to #karenhauer & #otimabusi) 💜
reading that book(s), cleaning out those cupboards, drawing, TALKING, to your loved ones at home or by phone. Listening to music, just sitting in the quiet, I could go on..
To let you know, the clinic is still open. I’m still cleaning (zoflora-ing) all the time, Clean couch cover change all the time, washing & spraying down the couch & cushion, of course washing my hands at least twice with each patient. I shall be wearing gloves as of next week, it won’t impede my treatment at all. I would respectfully ask that just let me know if you’re not well & please don’t come in. We can of course rearrange. Also I’ll be asking patients to keep their distance in the waiting room, so only 1 at a time. And the switch over will be kept at a distance to. Please be assured of my best intentions for your health & wellbeing at all times. Stay well lovely people, & thank you thank you for your continued support. Small businesses need us all. Love ###
As always my priority is my patient's health and wellbeing. The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic is forcing everyone to rethink how they interact with the world. I am following all guidelines, personally and at my clinic, even more so, very frequently throughout the day. I trust that my patients act responsibly and sensibly. If anyone is not feeling well please do not hesitate to postpone your appointment, I will happily rebook at no charge of course.
I would also like to let anyone in the community know, that I am very willing to do shopping, or errands or whatever you may require if you find yourself quarantined, please just call me at the clinic or on my mobile.
We need to pull together as a community, help those less able, support our local businesses and act responsibly.
[01/01/19] Thank you to all who made 2018 a great year. Let 2019 be full of love, kindness, health, joy & success.
One step in the right direction..!

It's never too late to say 'Thank You'. It's never too late to say 'I care'. It is such a shame to miss out on the feeling you get from giving thanks and showing your love. So if I haven't already said it, a very big THANK YOU to all my lovely, caring, patients, and friends and family for liking my page! I really do care.
On the eve of Christmas & everyone is getting ready for the days ahead. This is a very special time to share love & good times with family & friends. A time when memories are made & we can fondly look back on all the fun & laughter. Let’s send some love & best wishes to those less fortunate, those without the love of family or a home & if so inclined a donation to those like #The Salvation Army is a small help & a way to spread good wishes & love.
A big thank you to all of my patients for your continued support. With love to those near & dear & those absent we hold dear in our heart. A very merry Christmas & healthy & happy new year!
Let today be THE best day of your life! Start the week how you intend to continue.. with joy, happiness & laughter.
Now, I'm fully aware that pain clouds our ability to think straight or smile. So to all my existing patients & those I've yet to meet, if that niggle is still annoying you or affecting your ability to function 100%, perhaps it's time you made an appointment to see me.
Remember good health IS attainable, sometimes we just need some help to achieve it.
Here comes the weekend! I trust you've all had a good week. Remember that at weekends it's often the time we may do some housework, gardening, or simply lounge around. Just remember to look after your backs & knees. Its not necessarily what you do but how you do it.
Make it a great weekend, regardless of the weather.
Sadly we woke to hear of yet more terrorist attacks; attacks of hate, against all that the majority in the west believe in, love, care, tolerance, acceptance & humanity... Some of the qualities that make our nation and people great.
There are no words to comfort those who have brutally lost their dear loved ones. But we as a great people send them our love & prayers & also our commitment to not let those full of hatred & false beliefs destroy us as a nation/world. Do not let these misguided destructive people blur our vision of our great loving world, let's not give them power & behave as they do; let us continue in our lives with strength & courage, united as one, with love.
Love to all #Londonbridge. #Manchester ###
At this time when many of us are getting ready to spend time with loved ones, eating & drinking, laughing & sharing joy, spare a thought for those less fortunate. The homeless, the needy, those in war stricken countries, those alone in care homes without family, and maybe it's not always possible to give either time or money to all, do what you can. Maybe buy a Big Issue, from those trying to turn their lives around, even a smile to a beggar, acknowledging their existence can make a difference. Let's remember them all & send them love.
Wishing all my patients past & present, an amazing, joyful, love filled time. And THANK YOU for your continued belief & support in my incredible profession.
Merry Christmas & a healthy & prosperous New Year! ###
Mmm, I clearly haven't got the hang of this yet, have I?! Save to say, we probably don't realise the value of good health until we don't have it. Which is why it is so important to attain it and then maintain it. Just because we don't have an issue doesn't mean we shoudn't be looking after ourselves. We service our cars and other household equipment, not only when they break down, but in an attempt to prevent a breakdown or fault. We are THE most valuable asset we have, our bodies and mind, we should treat them with respect, care and love.
Have a great day and weekend!

[10/03/16] Heard a lovely quote from Mother Teresa this morning that went along the lines of, 'we can't all do great things, but we can do small things with great love'. Whatever we do, let's try and do just that, and go that little bit further, give a bit more, with love, and reap the benefits.
