Owner of The Nature Nook 🌿
I started my career as an Early Years teacher, but stepped away from the stress and bureaucracy to find something that truly made me happy.
I’ve always loved flowers (and flowers make people happy!) so I retrained in floristry and ran a florist with my mother-in-law, which I loved! But once I had my son, I realised running a shop with two little ones running around just wasn’t going to work for our family. So we sold the shop and I focused on raising our children 🤍
My children are happiest outdoors: splashing in puddles, climbing, exploring, and discovering the world around them. Watching them flourish outside reminded me how powerful outdoor play is for children’s development and wellbeing.
With my eldest starting school this year, I wanted to create something that fits around family life and brings together my passions for nature and early years.
I wanted to set up a space that gives children the freedom to explore, take risks, use their senses and truly be themselves. To do this I needed to find the right place and when I came across the Junior Rangers area at Dinton, it was just perfect! ✨
I’ve lived within walking distance of Dinton for over 10 years and it has always been our go to place for family walks and catch ups with friends. I have loved sharing it with my little ones as they grow and it is quickly becoming one of their favourite places too!
The space itself is just magical; nestled in the trees, full of opportunities for child-led exploration alongside my resources and guided nature-based activities 🍃
