Wellbeing is supported by taking small actions every day towards meaningful goals. Waiting for life to start when the time is right, when your financially ready, or when you have more time leads to a state of procrastination. Taking even the smallest of actions daily (even if that is five minutes a day) has snow ball effect. With positive thought and small daily actions we begin to develop new neural pathways in our brain that strengthen over time with repeated positive thought and positive action. Getting out of overdrive. When life events strike out of the blue and face us with immediate stress theses are called acute stresses. This might be being fired, going through a divorce or bad break-up, having a baby, or being diagnosed with a potentially serious disorder but it might also be attending an interview or performance. But when acute stress is coupled with a chronic overload of day-to-day stresses such as commuting, long hours at work, and not enough down time our bodies can go into what we call sympathetic overdrive – or chronic stress

The sympathetic nervous system - also known as our fight-flight-freeze response once triggered is difficult to override but it is necessary for our survival – e.g., responding at lighting speed when you see your child step into oncoming traffic.

But sometimes our bodies go into sympathetic overdrive unnecessarily -
The little everyday stresses of our lives and overdoing it can mean our stress response or our sympathetic nervous system can be thrown into a low-level state that will over time produce a wide range of damaging effects that can cause anxiety, low mood, and depression.
