Women's Health.
Nourish your blood 🦇
I see so many women who walk through my door with various health problems, the big thing I'd like to shout from the roof tops is to "nourish your blood" ❤
Making simple dietary changes and eating at set regular times could have a massive impact on your physical and mental health 🧘‍♀️
Foods rich in iron, like dark leafy greens 🥗 dark fruits 🍒 and seeds, legumes & whole grains, bone broth, eggs, sardines.
Avoid processed foods, Rest 😶‍🌫️ during your period and your mind and body will begin to thank you 🙏

Happy spring equinox

5 ways to align with spring.

The spring equinox marks a unique point of perfect balance where Yin and Yang are in equal measure. Astronomically, this is the moment when day and night are of equal length. Symbolically and energetically, it represents the transition from the "rest" of winter (Yin) to the "growth" of spring (Yang).

Spring is associated with the Wood element, the Liver, and the Gallbladder.

1, Most important, protect your neck and shoulders, as tempting as it is to cast away that scarf, keep a light scarf on as the weather is unpredictable, warm turns to windy in the bat of an eyelid, external pathogens are looking for ways to invade the body, this is where they'll invade.

2, eat more spring greens to detox from the winter stagnation, and start your day with a warm cup of lemon and water.

3, move the body to release stagnation of liver Qi. Qigong, tai chi and dancing are ideal for moving that qi leading to balanced emotions, fewer headaches and better digestion

4. Flexibility in your mind as well as your body, let go of what no longer serves you, be open to change. Ask yourself where am I stuck now? Are you being to rigid for the flexibilities that wood needs to grow?

5. Spend more time out with nature, take a walk amongst the trees, be part of the rhythm of the season, we are a part of nature, not separate, the more in tune we are, the more balanced we become.

Happy spring equinox

Moxibustion
Moxa is an essential part of Chinese medicine.
Moxa is made from Mugwort leaves, that are placed either directly on the skin, on top of acupuncture needles, or held just above the skin, sometimes in a Moxa box or roller.
The herbs is lit and as it smoulders, a gentle heat permeats the skin, affecting the flow of qi and blood.

☯️ Yin (black, dark) represents feminine, receptive, cold, intuition, receptivity, and passive energy, while Yang (white, bright) symbolizes masculine, active, hot, and assertive energy.
They are not in conflict but are interdependent, creating balance, if there is too much yin, things become cold and stagnate. If there is too much yang, there is too much action and things become aggressive.

The weather is very changeable at the moment, 🌞 ❄️ and those pesky pathogens are looking for sneaky ways to invade your body 🤧
One of the ways they like to get in is by tricking you with the weather. Warm and sunny ☀️ quickly turns into winter chills 🥶
Keep your scalf on, the back of your neck covered and a jacket close at hand 😶‍🌫️

We are about to enter the Year of the Fire Horse! Tomorrow 17th February 2026 is the start of Lunar New Year, (or Chinese New Year) and people all over the world will be celebrating.

The date varies from one year to the next, but it always begins on the first new moon occurring between January and February, and ends on the first full moon of the Lunisolar calendar, spanning a total of 15 days.

The horse – Wu 午 officially emerged on February 4, (Li Chun the start of Spring), and the past few days has been a transitional period where the previous year’s Wood Snake energy ‘hands over’ to the fiery new energy.

Popular traditions include thoroughly cleaning your house and throwing out junk in the run up to the New Year (not on the actual day), so that we can enter this new chapter fresh and baggage free.

Eating a delicious meal on Lunar New Year’s Eve, plus fireworks is also a great way to welcome in the new, as is wearing red – a symbol of luck. It is also customary to hand out red envelopes filled with cash to the children of the house.

Try not to break anything on the actual day, and if you do wrap it in red cloth to dispose of it. You can practise your Chinese by wishing people happiness and prosperity with a ‘Gong Xi Fa Cai’ 恭喜发财 (Mandarin) or ‘Kung Hei Fat Choi’ 恭喜發財(Cantonese).

As Dr. CT Holman writes in the most recent edition of Acu. Magazine, “the Horse Year of 2026 will be more lively than usual due to the presence of the fire element… fire energy can be explosive, yet also creative. In Chinese culture, fire represents imagination, charm, spontaneity, pleasure travel, expressiveness, curiosity, and inventiveness – 2026 may be a time for inspiration and innovation.”

You can read more about what the Year of the Fire Horse has in store for us in Acu. Magazine https://acupuncture.org.uk/acu/articles/happy-new-year-of-the-yang-fire-horse/

And let us know in the comments how are you celebrating this brand new year!

Dr CT Holman brings Acu. magazine his forecast for 2026, following in the footsteps of Lillian Pearl Bridges’ tradition of writing the Chinese astrology forecast for the Lotus Institute.

The fascia is so tight that a small amount of pressure on the heel is making the needles in the leg jump.
I can assure you those needles didn't hurt, it's my leg 🙈
