Lovely day at the amazing Moseley Old Hall - National Trust which capped off a fantastic term for us at The Ember Within. I’ve been busy writing articles on masculinity, attending and speaking at conferences alongside the usual getting kids outside to improve their wellbeing and education. Thank you to all our partners and those who have joined us around the campfire to look both within yourselves and at the world around you 💚

Yesterday was all about using the idea of Wayfinding to support young boys in becoming leaders of their communities. A very inspiring idea from a wonderful school in Birmingham 💚

Conkers took front and centre stage in our last session on Friday. Can’t believe the group didn’t know how to play Conkers but I guess I’m now old enough to experience serious generational differences!

Great day today with one of our partner schools. In the morning we made our own fire lighters using wax and cotton pads. In the afternoon we examined trees, looked at the grounds fantastic fungi and made pine cone torches. Started to get windy near the end so looks like storm Amy is coming over for the weekend!

Happy Friday indeed! A day packed full of fun and learning. We captured autumn, cooked over the fire and put our fire lighting skills to the test!
