Hello and happy BLOODY Tuesday!
So one of the first things that always comes up when onboarding a new client is the age old question of "how long will it take for me to lose weight?"
As a coach, it is irresponsible for me to give an answer to these sorts of questions, as there are SO MANY factors depending on the individual that can slow down or speed up their fat loss progress.
What's difficult, restrictive, and hard to adhere to for one person, can be easy peasy lemon squeezy for another.
And if you've been following this page for a while, you'll know that I always say the best nutrition plan is the one you can ACTUALLY stick to!
So let me try again to give you a proper answer because that's what we're all here for, right?
There is one thing that I can say for certain on this topic that rings true for everyone:
Creating a SENSIBLE calorie deficit and staying in it CONSISTENTLY is 100% the quickest way to get you to where you want to be.
I emphasised the word "sensible" here because with weight loss, the first hurdle is usually getting real with ourselves and what we're able to maintain.
If your maintenance calories (the amount of calories you eat in to maintain your current weight) is something like 2,500 calories a day, and then suddenly you drop down to 1,200 calories.
Sure! This is certainly a calorie deficit and you will drop fat quickly eating this amount!
But will you be able to maintain it for long? Does eating this little make sense in your life and will it be something you can adhere to?
Probably not. Which is why every time you did this in the past, you ended back at square one.
Picking a smaller deficit will allow you to lose weight in a way where you can still enjoy your life!
And enjoying your life and not being on a miserable diet generally also allows you to be more CONSISTENT (second important word of the day)
