PC MCGIVNEY and the safe space were on patrol on Saturday night, they were making sure that the public were safe by handing out bottle caps to stop spiking on nights out. PC MCGIVNEY further handed out personal attack alarms to female to make them feel more safe. The safe space initiative is great way for police and paramedics to work together and provide reassurance to the public.

A message from the Worcester BID Chair Anja Potze:

‘We are delighted to have received positive support from our business community in the Worcester BID ballot.

We received 94% backing by total number of votes and 98% support by Rateable Value of all properties that voted. This is a fantastic increase from the 2019 ballot, where we received 84% of votes and 83% support by Rateable Value.

That means we can continue making a positive impact in the city centre to at least 2030.’

Today we are at the University of Worcester with our partners in care, the Worcester City Primary Care Network.

Pop on over to see us at Safe Space and visit the Primary Care Network nurse to receive a health check, sexual health advice, and welfare support.

YHYW and Safe Space will be available until 4 PM today. If you can't make it, don't worry; we'll be back tomorrow from 10 AM to 4 PM, and you can also find us at the University Arena for the Welcome Fair on Wednesday!

A week today Worcester is set to host a special event to mark the International Day of Peace. Worcester Safe Space will be supporting the event with medical coverage.

Worcester City Council is organising its first Peace Day event as part of events to celebrate the day across the world.

Starting at 11.15am and ending at 12.45pm, Cathedral Square will host the free event, which will feature songs, recitations, speeches, and the laying of candlelights and flowers.

A moment of unified silence is set for midday, following which a peace flag will be hoisted.
