Change the focus.
I had a cracking hour today at one of my schools building Star Wars LEGO.
Finding a shared passion we decided (with the teacher and student) that we should have a calmer session that focused on talking and connection.

I always think it's important to try something new and step away from the conventional. We will definitely go back to sports and fitness but today was genuinely lovely.

A Busy day! But it was sunny!Also I do love parks that have actual gym equipment to use!

Fitness for SEND Parents

THE PLAN

*To create a specific, regular, Circuits class for parents carers to come and focus on their personal fitness goals.

*To build a supportive community where we can not only encourage fitness ambitions and targets but also provide guidance and friendship over wider, daily matters.

THE PROCESS

* My proposal would be Friday Evenings (March onwards)

*Location, Sansome Walk Worcester City Sensory Matters Worcestershire

*Β£5 for a 1 HR class

* Fully instructor lead

* Time for Physical health

*Time for Mental health

Fitness movements in Sport
This will sound obvious and maybe a little silly but where possible I love to incorporate sport into my PT/ fitness sessions.

Some of my clients relate much better to learning a cricket cover drive shot rather than learning a standard lunge!

When catching a ball, often the optimal stance is a squat!

When we serve in tennis we jump!

When we kick a ball on one leg our core activates for stability!

Sometime I take the focus away from the individual fitness movement, to obtain better fitness movements πŸ‘

Turns out that the Sensory mats are brilliant for grounding during certain exercises.

Standing on these deep pressure mats whilst playing tennis really reduced the 'flight' impulse today for my client and we managed to try the sport in a really positive way! 😁
