Friday night Chasing meteor ☄️ showers!

A last minute adventure with the dogs, chasing meteor showers.
We found a quiet, dark sky car park at Worth Matravers and crossed our fingers for the clouds to clear. We stayed in the van overnight, warmed by candlelight, listening to the waves crash against the rocks below.
We did not get a full shower of meteors, but we did catch a few shooting stars. And honestly, that was enough. That moment of stillness always resets my body and steadies my nervous system in a way nothing else quite does.

Wandering in the dark, eyes lifted to the sky, hoping to glimpse something extraordinary has a way of putting everything into perspective.

And yes, I know this is another post about the stars… but do you know what? I love it. They make me happy.
And if they make me happy, maybe they will make you happy too.

Some things are not there to be seen just once.
They are there to ground us. To root us in the seasons. To remind us how small we are and how vast life can be.
The stars are big enough to make me believe that anything is possible.

Early morning walk back up in Whitley Bay.
A place that always feels like home.
The place where the first whisper of Wild Ways and Lazy Days came to me, and the first place I ever felt real community.
Plastic Free Whitley Bay brought me into conversations, friendships and connections with so many incredible individuals and business owners. Everyone lifting each other up. Everyone caring. Everyone trying to do better together.
Walking these familiar paths reminds me of where it all began.

Today was a gentle mix of reminiscing and planning for the end of 2025, letting ideas rise with the tide and settle with each step.

And then came the North Sea.
The thought of getting in honestly scared the life out of me, but I did it anyway.
Was it cold? Yes.
Did it hurt? Yes.
Did I enjoy it? Strangely, yes.
Will I do it again tomorrow? Absolutely.

The North Sea just hits different.
Starting my Monday with a clear head, a full heart and a huge smile on my face.

17 days to Christmas. 🕯

Tonight’s your invitation to do absolutely nothing.

Light a candle, pour your favourite drink, and watch the twinkle of fairy lights instead of the to-do list.

December magic isn’t found in productivity - it’s found in presence.
How do you hygge - hot chocolate, film night, or early bedtime?

18 days to Christmas. 🧺

Cupboard check time! I like to think of this as nesting season for the pantry - flour, sugar, nuts, festive spices, all lined up and ready.

It’s such a satisfying ritual - preparing quietly for the feasts to come.

A little stock-up now means more time later for firesides and films.

What’s one thing that always finds its way into your trolley this month?

19 days to Christmas. ✨
A lovely moment to think about what you will wear over the next couple of festive weeks. Not just Christmas Day, but the gatherings, doorstep chats, winter walks and cosy evenings that seem to appear out of nowhere.

Instead of rushing to buy something new, I am looking at what I already have through softer eyes. A knit I had forgotten about. A dress that feels different with a belt or a warmer layer. If you do want something fresh, try pre loved first. Sequins are plastic, so choosing with care really does matter.

Comfort is confidence this season.
Are you someone who dresses up for the magic of it, or a pyjamas by five kind of woman?

20 days to Christmas. 💌

It’s the weekend for small doorstep gestures - the kind that warm hearts more than any grand gift.

Drop off a card, some biscuits, or a jar of something homemade.

It’s not about perfection; it’s about connection.

Who will you surprise with a little festive kindness this weekend?

Ps - apologies for the this post being delayed - gremlins in the system!

21 days to Christmas. 🌍💫

If you have friends or family abroad, today is the perfect day to send your cards and parcels.
It is always one of those gentle tasks that sneaks up on us, and catching it early feels so good.
A simple moment of organisation can save a lot of last minute rushing later.

There is something magical about posting a little piece of home across the world.
A thoughtful gift. A handwritten card. A reminder that distance does not dim love.

Who are you posting love to this year?

22 days to Christmas. 🎁

Small gestures, big heart.

Today’s the perfect day to bake biscuits, bottle cordial, or wrap a little gift for neighbours, teachers, or friends.

It doesn’t need to be fancy - just thoughtful.
These quiet acts of kindness are the threads that make Christmas feel truly magical.
Who could you surprise with a little something this week?

23 days to Christmas. 🕯

The days are short and the nights are long - the perfect excuse to create a cosy corner just for you.

I’ve piled blankets on the sofa, added fairy lights, and brewed a cinnamon tea.

When the world feels busy, this is where I come to slow down and breathe.

What’s your winter comfort ritual?
