This charity is doing amazing things when it comes to raising awareness for men’s mental health, not only that but for prostate and testicular cancer too. They wouldn’t be able to do it without all the donations!

Seasonal Affective Disorder-
With Cooler temperatures and shorter days you may find that your daily routine; including your professional, leisure or sporting lifestyle may be affected. Changes in your lifestyle paired with grey skies, copious rainfall and cold temperatures can lead to feelings of despair.

Symptoms of SAD:
🍁Changes in mood
🍁Reduced energy levels
🍁Withdrawal from others
🍁Increased need for sleep
🍁 increased Aches and pains in the body

9 days and 10k into the Journey that is Movember!

I couldn’t be happy enough being able to support such a good cause. The beginning of the month has been extremely hard for me but with the love and kindness of the people around me, they’ve been able to support me through this tough time and I couldn’t be more grateful. A massive part of that is do to the great work this charity does to raise awareness for men’s Mental health and enabling men not suffer alone in silence.

This month I will be joining the big shave and exposing my chin for the world to see to raise awareness for men’s mental health this movember. Not only that, I’ll also be running 60k this month 1k for every man we lose to su***de each hour, every day.

Myself and The Team at The Dome Cinema believe too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Help my colleagues and I raise awareness not just to stop men dying too young, But to also raise awareness about Prostate and Testicular Cancer.

What Is Dry Needling?!

Dry Needling is the use of extremely thin needles inserted into the skin, penetrating muscle belly. Why do I include this in my Sports Therapy services?!

Dry needling is extremely effecting at relieving myofascial pain, especially that caused by trigger points. Trigger points are taut bands of skeletal muscle which are very irritable and can cause pain during movement and even at rest.

The upper trapezius reacts really well to trigger point dry needling, helping reduce pain and increase range of motion.

Do you have a specific spot of tightness, sensitivity and pain?!

This could be a myofascial trigger point!
Trigger points are sensitive areas of tightness which can form in your muscles after injury or overuse, These are areas of tension and hyper-irritability in taut bands of skeletal muscle fibres in your body. These can cause strain and pain throughout the muscle.

These trigger points are often referred to as ‘knots’ and can cause pain during exercise and even at rest!

Trigger points of the upper trapezius muscles are common causes for upper back pain and can also refer to pain in the shoulder and neck regions.

Massage and the services I provide are great for treating myofascial trigger points and increasing your range of motion, getting you back to pain free movement in no time!

What is cupping?

Cupping is one of the techniques that I have incorporated into the Sports Therapy services I provide at fitlabworthing to help patients with pain relief!

The vacuum that is achieved through cupping eases the tention between muscles and connective tissues.

Fascia is a connective tissue that lies underneath the skin and surrounds muscles, vessels and nerves in the body. Injuries and exercise can lead to the fascia becoming tight and ‘stuck’ to the muscle lying underneath, Cupping can Seperate the layers around the fascia and break up adhesions assisting in healing process.

Cupping immediately good at reducing pain and muscle tension which is why it’s becoming a popular tool for both athletes and every day individuals

Besides reducing pain there are many other benefits to cupping, for example:
Increasing range of motion and flexibility of muscles and joints.
Increase blood circulation.
Assisting the natural healing process of the body.
Restores energy.
