|| Did you know...? The sun doesnt have to be shining for hay-fever to appear.
INTRODUCING.... *THUNDER-FEVER* βοΈπͺπ©π«βοΈπͺπ©π«πͺβοΈπ«π©πͺπ«
|| For myself & lots of my clients, THUNDERSTORMS hugely exacerbate hay-fever symptoms, particularly:- itchy, watery eyes; headache/migraine; runny nose; wheezing/tight chest; exacerbation of asthma; and overall lethargy & fatigue.
|| So many people this year are finding symptoms are excessive, worse than ever, and totally unbearable, but they are unsure why. So I have done some digging...
|| Due to us having such a humid Spring this year, there is a chance that the pollen is particularly potent.
|| The air just before a storm is often more humid, and this humidity breaks pollen grains into smaller allergenic particles. These particles are now so small that when they are breathed in through the nose and mouth they can get deeper down into the smaller airways in the lungs and trigger/worsen symptoms.
|| One pollen grain splits into two, which not only raises the pollen count, but also these new pollen grains also turn into a kind of βsuper pollenβ which appears to be more allergenic than normal pollen, slightly different, therefore a new allergen for your body to feel the need to defend itself from, which in turn causes more severe reactions in new and existing sufferers.
|| Storms cause huge movements in the air, bringing pollen grains down which might have otherwise risen above head height out of harmβs way, and whipping up pollen grains near the ground.
|| Some airborne allergens involved in thunderstorm hay-fever are grass and tree pollens and mould spores.
