Want to get your child screened for type 1 diabetes?
The ELSA study, led by the University of Birmingham, is screening children, aged 3-13 years to find out their risk of developing type 1 diabetes. This is a simple finger stick blood test, that can be done at home.
Children at high risk can be monitored and could enter research studies aiming to delay the start of type 1 diabetes.
Every family who takes part is helping us to understand more about type 1 diabetes.
For more information, please see our online information tool here: www.elsadiabetes.nhs.uk
If you would like to take part, please fill in the eligibility form: https://redcap.link/The_ELSA_Study
You can contact us by email: elsa@contacts.bham.ac.uk or phone: 0121 414 7814 for online or postal consent options
Thank you.

We are currently experiencing much higher demand for appointments than usual.

We are also very short staffed today with fewer doctors and nurses available.

With this in mind we want to keep our appointments for those who are most in need and are unable to access help from anywhere else.

Please consider your pharmacy for advice on common ailments and prescription queries.

Lots of advice can be found online at https://www.nhs.uk/ where you can also find information about the planned industrial action

Many thanks for your support
