What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy (also called Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to help heal damaged tissues like tendons.

A handheld device delivers these waves to the affected area, improving blood flow and triggering the body’s natural healing process.

It’s commonly used for chronic conditions such as Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and tennis elbow, especially when other treatments haven’t worked.

We are now able offer Shockwave Therapy in both our Wrexham and Chester Clinics.

Meet Abi, one of our amazing Osteopaths and Qualified Paediatric specialist😃👍💪

Abi studied at Swansea University gaining her Masters in Osteopathy. She is now an extremely experienced practitioner who loves treating patients of all ages. Having found a love for treating babies as young as four days old at her previous clinic she recently completed a Postgraduate certificate in Specialist Paediatric Osteopathic Practice at the University College of Osteopathy in London. The course allowed her to work closely with a range of other professionals, which includes social workers, CAMS, health visitors, occupational therapists and midwives.

Abi was brought up in Kuwait and moved to the UK in 2013. Having developed a passion for food and travelling early she is always planning her next adventure, whether that is the next country to visit or a new restaurant to dine at.

She chose to study Osteopathy having always wanted to work within healthcare to help people achieve their desired health and wellbeing goals, in a progressive and alternate approach.

Abi enjoys treating patients of all ages, with a particular focus on pregnancy and the paediatric population. She welcomes babies from just a few days old and has a special interest in supporting infants, children, and expectant parents through gentle, individualised osteopathic care.

Abi takes a calm, collaborative approach, working closely with parents and carers. She also treats older children and adults for a wide range of musculoskeletal and functional concerns.

Abi works in our Mold and Chester clinics.

Meet Frankie, our awesome Sports Massage Therapist in our Wrexham Clinic😃👍💪

Originally from Wrexham, Frankie joined the Wrexham team as our sports massage therapist, supporting clients in enhancing recovery, reducing pain and improving functional movement.

Frankie began her journey in health, fitness and performance by studying Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University, where she graduated with first-class honours and developed a strong understanding of anatomy, human movement and rehabilitation. Building on this academic foundation, she went on to complete her Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy qualification and also undertook further professional development in myofascial dry cupping to enhance her treatment approach and techniques.

Alongside her clinical work, she was progressing towards her Level 3 Personal Training qualification to further develop her skills in exercise programming and long-term rehabilitation.

Outside the clinic, Frankie has a strong interest in fitness, she is passionate about movement and believes in empowering people to understand their bodies and feel confident in their physical capabilities. Her approach to treatment is centred around delivering effective, personalised care that not only addresses symptoms but also supports long term health, performance and wellbeing.

Frankie works in our Wrexham clinic.
