🌟 Heartfelt thanks to our incredible volunteers! 🌟

In January, the Wroxham, Hoveton & Surrounding Villages Community First Responders (CFR) Team donated around 400 hours of their precious time to support our local communities.

Our dedicated volunteers responded to a wide variety of medical emergencies — from assisting people with breathing difficulties to providing CPR interventions. Every call-out helps make a real difference in those critical moments.
We are entirely run by volunteers and funded solely through generous donations — we receive no government funding, so every contribution helps us stay equipped and ready to respond.

If you'd like to support our work, even a small donation of £1 (or any amount you can spare) would be hugely appreciated and goes directly back into keeping our kit up to date and our team trained.

Start 2026 by making a real difference in your community. Our volunteers are ordinary people who do something extraordinary in their spare time – and you can too!

We have a range of roles to suit different interests and skills, these include:

✅ Community engagement group member – Help us improve services as one of our ‘critical friends’. They help identify ways of improving services and support with a range of activities.

✅ Community first responder – trained by us to attend certain types of emergency calls. They respond to potentially life threatening emergencies in the areas they live or work. They’re often first on the scene and administer life-saving care in the vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives.

✅ Welfare Wagon volunteer – trained to provide basic mental health and wellbeing support and signposting for our colleagues.

💚 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers 💚

The Wroxham, Hoveton & Surrounding Villages Community First Responder (CFR) team are incredibly proud to share that our volunteers dedicated another 330 hours in December alone, supporting our community when it mattered most.

Throughout 2025, our team has given nearly over 4,500 volunteer hours, attending a large number of medical emergencies and providing vital early care to those in need.

This simply wouldn’t be possible without the dedication, compassion, and commitment of our incredible volunteers.

Everyone at the Community First Responder group covering Wroxham, Hoveton and the surrounding villages would like to wish our community a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas, along with our very best wishes for a positive and safe 2026.
Throughout the festive season, our dedicated volunteers will continue to respond to medical emergencies — often leaving their own loved ones at home to ensure help reaches our community when it’s needed most ❤️.

We have moved to our highest escalation level, REAP 4, due to sustained high demand on our service and increasing hospital handover delays.

Our response times may be longer than usual. We are asking for your help so we can get to those who need us most:

✅ Get your flu & COVID-19 jabs

What amazing work! Working with our other CFR teams we have nearly hit 200,000 hours of volunteer hours, all here to serve our communities!

Today is International Volunteer Day, and we want to thank the hundreds of volunteers across EEAST who are there for our patients every single day.

So far this year, our volunteer community first responders have logged over 196,000 hours on-call, and responded to over 25,000 calls.

Did you know that you could be the reason someone gets help fast during a life-threatening emergency?

The GoodSAM app alerts trained volunteers when someone nearby needs urgent medical assistance — often before an ambulance can get to the scene. This can make a vital difference in situations like cardiac arrest, where every second truly counts.❤️

Our Wroxham & Hoveton CFR team works hard to support our community, but we can’t be everywhere at once.
The more people in our area signed up as GOODSAM responders, the greater our chance of reaching someone in time and helping to save a life.

In October, our dedicated Community First Responders from Wroxham, Hoveton, and the surrounding areas volunteered nearly 400 hours and responded to multiple medical emergencies, making a real difference in people’s lives. 🙌💙

We rely entirely on donations to fund our life-saving work. Even a contribution as small as £1 can make a huge difference in helping us continue to support our local community. 💛

We’re also always recruiting! No matter your background, if you have a passion for helping others in emergencies, there’s a place for you on our team, all training and kit provided.

Since January 2007, when we were first created the Wroxham, Hoveton & Surrounding Villages Community First Responder (CFR) Team has proudly supported our community in times of need.
From then until September 2025, our dedicated volunteers have attended an incredible 6,424 incidents, providing vital care and reassurance before an ambulance arrives.

We’re honoured to serve our local area — but we can’t do it without you! 🙌
