🌸🎉 Birthdays are moments to cherish, and this week we had a delightful celebration here at Avocet House!

Anne, one of our lovely residents, was all smiles as we joined her and her beautiful family for a birthday bash to remember. Her special day featured a delightful Burger King dinner followed by an absolutely stunning cake, which she gleefully blew out after making her birthday wish. 💖🎂

Seeing Anne surrounded by smiles and laughter made this day truly wonderful. Many happy returns and a very special birthday, Anne!

🌟 Yeehaw! Our latest session of seated line dancing at Avocet House was a spectacular success! 🎶💃

Today, we were thrilled to have Hilda and Mavis join our dance squad. Both were naturals, looking like pros on the makeshift floor. Hilda even brought a delightful touch of old tales and nostalgia, sharing heartwarming stories of attending Nottingham festival with her beloved cowboy hat! 🎩

It's joyous moments like these that keep us all using a rhythm or two to celebrate the vibrancy of our other happenings around!

🌞 What an unforgettable day we had at the Summer Fair here at Avocet House! A heartfelt THANK YOU to our lovely residents, families, and friends who came out to make the event truly special. The warmth and laughter we shared together are moments we’ll cherish. 🌿💕

The event wouldn’t have been the same without the exceptional raffle and tombola. Our gratitude overflows to all who donated gifts and prizes. 🎁 Your generosity helped create a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.

Special thanks to our local heroes for their contributions: Dunelm, Downtown, Tesco, Costa Coffee, Fairfield Guesthouse, Sylvia’s Salon, and Boston Bowl. 🙏 Thanks to your support, we all enjoyed an exciting day together.

And, of course, a special mention to the soft-natured alpacas from Big Sky Alpacas who stole the show. 🦙 The joy they brought was written all over our residents' faces!

We are already looking forward to the next community gathering. Stay tuned. Until then, let’s keep the summer rambling at Avocet House!

🐾🌟 Celebrate International Dog Day with us at Avocet House! 🌟🐾

Today, we had the delightful company of some furry friends as our amazing staff brought in their beloved dogs, from playful puppies to wise seniors, to brighten the day for our residents. 🐶💖 There's nothing quite like the warm joy and profound calm animals bring into our lives, and today's smiles said it all!

A huge thank you to our staff for sharing their cherished pets and creating unforgettable moments for our Avocet family. See the joy on our residents' faces as they cuddled and played with our visitors. 🥰

We kicked off a comprehensive day of training with morning sessions focused on Moving and Handling. In the afternoon, everyone engaged in Basic Life Saving—essential techniques that bolster our commitment to your loved ones' safety and well-being.

Whether staff were new to the training or refreshing their skills, the camaraderie and support were truly inspiring. It's all part of ensuring the highest quality care for our residents. 🙌

🌿💚 What a delightful day at Avocet House! Embracing the sunshine, we spent time in our cherished garden despite the windy breeze. Our tomato plants gifted us with a batch of ripe beauties, much to our surprise and delight! 🍅

Hannah, our wonderful kitchen assistant, was thrilled to discover these fresh tomatoes for her culinary creations, rinsing them carefully and thinking of delicious recipes to bring smiles to our lovely residents. 😄

It’s always rewarding to nurture the fruits of our labour and enjoy nature’s bounty with everyone here at Avocet House. 🍽️

🎶✨ An evening to remember at Avocet House! Last night, the lounge was alive as residents, family, and friends enjoyed a fantastic performance from Clearer Productions. It was a delightful evening filled with laughter, music, and joy! 🎤💃

Nicky and Neil wowed us again with their charming rendition of 'Tea for Two'. Nicky's stunning voice had us mesmerised, and Neil took a brave step to join in with his own singing debut. We are so proud of you, Neil! 👏

Thank you all for joining us for this wonderfully uplifting gathering. We eagerly await Nicky and Neil's return in October for more magical moments.

🌟 Life is full of joy and today's armchair exercise session at Avocet House was no exception! Elly from BeGreatFitness joined us again, and we dived right into some invigorating exercises with our resident bands.

Every movement was infused with energy as stories, anecdotes and a sprinkling of jokes elevated our spirits throughout the session. The smiles and laughter were contagious! 😄

It's so wonderful to see our residents feeling great and enjoying every moment. A heartfelt thank you to Elly for her ongoing dedication to keeping us fit and happy.
