I gave up fish for a few years, having watched a few documentaries about the fishing industry it didn't sit well with me. I haven't eaten meat for years but still cook it regularly for my boys. I really missed fish though. I really missed it. And I think my body missed it too! So I now try to eat it little and not too often but to really make it count when I do.
I bought these frozen sardines a while ago,then realised that they needed filetting..and so they stayed in the freezer 😂. On Sunday I put my big girl pants on and, with the help of my gorgeous boy, we deheaded and filetted 24 beautiful sardines.
I marinaded them in sumac, smoked paprika, lemon juice, garlic and olive oil for 3 hours then popped them in the oven. We made a big salad with loads of watermelon and a brown rice, lemon and chickpea salad.
Holy moly ..it was the food of the gods!! And well worth the stinky hands 😂
