Spotlight: Workwear That Works – Bump Caps vs Hard Hats

It’s – and while hi-vis and steel toe caps might not hit the catwalk, workwear plays a vital role in safety and functionality on site.

At Klick, our fitters are often working in tight, confined spaces during internal projects. That’s why we kit them out with bump caps—sleek, lightweight headgear designed to protect against knocks and scrapes in low-risk areas. They meet EN 812 standards and are more comfortable in cramped environments.

Of course, where there’s any risk of falling objects, we switch to hard hats, which offer robust protection and meet EN 397 safety standards. Choosing the right PPE is all about staying safe while getting the job done efficiently.

I recently visited Xaverian College in — exciting to see their stunning new block nearing completion! 🧪✨

We worked closely with Pozzoni Architecture during the phase as the specialist, ensuring the furniture complemented the client's vision of a light, modern learning environment.

Our installation team enjoyed a positive collaboration with Seddon Construction — great teamwork all round to hit the project deadline. 👷‍♂️

School Refurbishment Success at Brookfield Community School

Over a three-year rolling programme, Klick partnered with Brookfield Community School to transform 12 science labs, two food technology rooms and an art room—creating inspiring and future-ready learning spaces.

During a recent visit to the , it was a pleasure to experience a lively environment full of inspirational ideas for the pupils.

In the department corridor there was a really practical infographic on potential scientific careers. Large graphics welcome you to each department and despite the obvious age of the school, I was really impressed with the atmosphere created.

It was also interesting to see the rooms in use and get a feel for how the teaching staff tailor the space to encourage pupil engagement and to suit their requirements.

From enhanced storage and teaching layouts to improved heating systems and flexible learning zones, this project showcases how a well-planned school refurbishment can uplift engagement and improve learning outcomes.

🚧 Now it's getting interesting on-site at JPL Flavours! 🚧

Cranes, giant funnels and scissor lifts — Klick's contracts team is pulling out all the stops to keep this ambitious project moving forward.

This phase marks a major milestone:
✔️ A 'City Crane' (narrow enough to navigate the newly partitioned space) has been used to lift the stainless-steel powder mixer into position.
✔️ The mezzanine floor stairs are now installed, and flooring is well underway.
✔️ Next up: construction of the new QC and Analytical labs on the mezzanine level.

We’re excited to see the transformation taking shape as we progress toward delivering state-of-the-art lab and manufacturing facilities!

On 2025 let’s think about the changes we can make to help preserve our planet.

We are delighted that in 2024 we achieved an amazing 17.8% TOTAL CARBON REDUCTION from the previous year.

The following changes have contributed to this significant improvement: -
• Installation of PIR LED lights and a monitoring/heating control system in the warehouse.
• Phasing out of radiant heaters in the warehouse and construction of an office within the warehouse to keep staff warm now that we don’t heat the whole space
• Continued commitment to phasing in electric and hybrid fleet vehicles
• Where possible materials and labour are sourced locally to the location of the project, to reduce travel emissions
The insights and recommendations from our recent Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) Report will continue to shape our roadmap to Net Zero.

It is our long-term goal to achieve operational by 2038 which is aligned to City Council and Science Based Targets.
