A festive day out to remember ✨🎄

Joy recently enjoyed a magical trip to a local Christmas Fayre — a day filled with festive lights, browsing beautiful stalls, and making special memories.

Thanks to the thoughtful planning and support from her care team, everything was arranged to ensure Joy could relax and enjoy the experience.

Vic, contacted Joy’s son, Rob, to see if this was something she’d enjoy and made sure all risk assessments were in place. She then carefully scheduled the visit so there was plenty of time for Joy to wander, explore and soak up the festive atmosphere.

On the day, Joanne arrived for her morning visit, helped Joy get ready, and accompanied her to the event. Together they explored the Fayre, admired the decorations, and even picked out a lovely Christmas pudding ornament that Joy fell in love with. After a bit of shopping, they treated themselves to tea and a toasted teacake in the café — and even met Mr Blobby for a fun photo!

Joy had such a wonderful time and has been telling other staff who visit her all about her day. She’s hoping to get out to more events like this, and we’re already keeping an eye out for what’s happening next in the community.

When I first heard about the Manchester MNDA Winter Ball, I never imagined I would be able to attend. Living with health challenges often means missing out on special occasions—but thanks to the incredible support from Helping Hands, that changed in the most wonderful way.

From the very start of the day, the Helping Hands team went above and beyond. Cristina set the tone with her warm, reassuring presence, making sure everything began smoothly. Jess brought glamour and confidence into the mix, sharing the contents of her makeup bag and her expertise to help me feel my best. And then there was Beth the star of the evening who ensured I arrived safely, stayed comfortable, and enjoyed every single moment.
