It’s race season!! The winter training has been done, and now it’s crunch time for a lot of people. Fingers crossed for some well deserved PBs!! 💪🏻🤞🏻

Two factors that make a big difference to performance are how well your muscles are feeling, and what you have been eating, so please reach out if you need help with muscle prep/recovery or your race fuelling strategy.

Don’t be like the many people I speak to who don’t think nutrition is impactful enough to pay attention to.

Our bodies are brilliant, complex systems that need the right fuel in the right amounts at the right times to function properly; are you nourishing yours?

Control the controllable!

Many things affect our health and fitness that we can’t control, such as our genetics, environmental factors, age and injuries.

But we can control other aspects like our sleep, nutrition, recovery, training and stress management.

We can’t control everything that is going to happen to us, but do the best you can in all other aspects, and your body is ready to tackle whatever comes your way ☺️

Just because we advise on injuries all day, doesn’t mean we don’t also experience life on the other side of the treatmen...

Just because we advise on injuries all day, doesn’t mean we don’t also experience life on the other side of the treatment couch!
Even when you do all the right things on paper, the body is not bulletproof, so it does sometimes break down despite best intentions.
But we can use our knowledge and experience to treat ourselves the same way we treat our patients, ensuring optimal movement whilst allowing healing and recovery 👌🏻
So rest assured, we know how you feel when you get injured, and we’ll work at our best to get you back doing what you love!

4 key elements to any race performance are your training programme, your strength training, your nutrition and your recovery. If any one of those is neglected, your whole race plan could go out the window.

We are now past the point where most people have quit their New Years Resolutions, so if you’re still going, well done!
New habits become so much harder once we’re back in the chaos of normal life, so if your motivation has started to waver, you’re not alone!

This is your gentle nudge that you CAN do it, you just need to stick with it a little longer until it becomes second nature. And don’t hesitate to reach out for help if you need some pointers to keep you on the right track!

If you’re setting resolutions this year, think about a course of action you can actually stick to for more than a couple of weeks. Change only comes about through consistency, so what actions do you want to keep doing long after that initial new year motivation has worn off?

And it’s also ok to not set any resolutions! Just because everyone else seems to be setting them, doesn’t mean you have to: live your own life!
