Anyone scared of vulnerability? In my humble view, it’s why people seek out someone independent (a counsellor or therapist) to try it out on first. Or keep hold of it, assuming they are the only one trying to make it look like they have it all figured out. I’m not sure anyone really does. If you think of someone you admire, look up to, connect with or aspire to be, vulnerability will most likely be why.
Yes, it’s hard to admit when things aren’t great or we feel less than. When we do, and we’re shown empathy, understanding and support, that’s when we connect most deeply and meaningfully.

Welcome to my page and DPP counselling. After a number of years working with clients in an agency setting I am now setting up a private practice. My aim is to help, support and encourage those experiencing emotional challenges and mental health issues to recognise that with self compassion and understanding the world can seem a much brighter and better place. We all have our own challenges and differences and I believe that it is our individual lens on life that can sometimes get in the way of our experiences in the here and now. Life isn’t always picture perfect and polished, hence my profile photo. If you are struggling with life’s ups and downs and looking for support and empathy then look no further. I am an integrative therapist with a number of years experience working with clients on a whole range of presenting issues. It is my belief that everyone needs to be seen, heard and valued for who they are. Sometimes the struggle is working out who you really are and what that means for you. I provide a supportive space to help my clients identify what is important to them in their lives and move closer towards living a life in line with their values and beliefs. If you are going through a challenging time and would like some emotional support then please contact me for a free introductory session. Some of the areas I have experience of working with include; anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, sexual orientation, gender identity, job loss, relationship issues, financial concerns and the emotional impact of all of these topics. We can’t always change the circumstances of our lives but it is my belief that through supportive and empathetic therapy we can move towards acceptance and growth.
