🌟 Tribute Tuesday: Honoring Sandy Wood 🌟
This week, we are honored to recognize Sandy Wood, a woman whose steady kindness and deep commitment to others have made a lasting impact in our community.
Sandy is a native of Elko, Georgia, where she was raised on a cattle farm with her parents, two sisters, and brother. Rooted in strong family values and hard work, Sandy began her career in social services before becoming a GED teacher in the early 1980s. She later transitioned into banking, working at Crossroads Bank for over 15 years, and eventually served as administrative secretary at Perry Presbyterian Church until her retirement.
After retiring, Sandy began assisting her husband, Larry, with his work at Perry Volunteer Outreach (PVO), and her volunteer efforts have continued to grow. She is an active member of Crosspoint Baptist Church, where she serves on the Benevolence Committee. She also lends a helping hand at the weekly Senior Center Bingo, bringing joy to local seniors through her time and care.
A breast cancer survivor, Sandy’s strength and spirit shine through in all she does. She enjoys baking, cooking, crafting, and spending quality time with her family. Her life is marked by generosity, humility, and a sincere desire to help others whenever she can.
We are proud to celebrate Sandy Wood and her heart for serving our community.💝
